We headed out to the Noon Road Tree Farm the first Saturday of December with the Scheenstra's to find the perfect tree. Some may define that as being 7 feet tall, not too wide, with no gaps or holes, a healthy tree, not a lot of leaves or bugs in it... but not me. I define the perfect tree as one that only requires us to walk until the point where everyone starts running in opposite directions, and one that doesn't lose its needles. That's it. And you know what? By that definition... we found the PERFECT tree! It's a turkish fir, and is beautiful in every way. This year marked a whole new experience for us... it was fun. I didn't break a sweat or cry, and no one else did either. WOW! And Tyler didn't even have to haul it back up to the truck - Wayne took care of it. It was funny to watch Tyler - he didn't hardly know what to do with himself. Arms free and waking back. Strange, but delightfully so. The boys had great fun cutting it down and tromping through the trees and just being outside for awhile. Bring on Christmas, baby!
