Just hanging out at home

The past few days have been spent just hanging out at home.  Today is Saturday, and I don't think I've left the house since... Tuesday.  And I only left then to go to Mom's to have Addison's newborn photoshoot done.  I'll be leaving the house for church, Treven's birthday party, speech, AND a doctor's appointment in the next two days, so I'm going to have to get used to driving again!!!  The boys have been coming and going, spending lots of time with Grandma.  Today they went to hang out at the Scheib's for the day, and have had a blast playing outside.  I have to say... this is the first day in two weeks that 6pm has hit and I am not DROP DEAD exhausted.  Wahooo!  Addison and I have had a quiet day at home, with lots of little projects and online shopping happening, and lots of down time too.  Tyler is on his way home from work, picking up the boys AND dinner, and I can't wait to see them all!!!

Weston goes from his bike to the pool, and back again!  He's ALWAYS prepared!
Aunt Shari brought dinner over, chicken pot pie, salad, fruit and a HUGE bag of cookies.  By 7pm, only 1/4 of the 9x13 casserole was left, and about the same for the salads, and only THREE cookies were left in the bag.  Yeesh!

Our Daily Routine

Addison is almost two weeks old, and we are settling into a routine.  Tyler went back to work yesterday, and with A LOT of help from my mom, we have been going it "alone" for 2 days now.  Addison usually goes down for "the night" between 9:30 and 10, and is up around 1:30 for a diaper change and a feeding, and again around 5 or 5:30am.  She is usually up for 30-45 minutes each time.  Around 6:30 or 7, Wayne and Wyatt are up and playing Legos, and I shower while Addison snoozes away.  We make it downstairs between 7:30 and 8, when Weston is usually up/out of his room.  Here's where it gets a little interesting, since EVERYONE thinks they need to eat at the same time.  Once we've figured that out, it is chore time - and then time to play a little more and HEAD OUTSIDE.  A fenced backyard is a beautiful thing!  Lunch is at noon sharp, and then Wyatt and Weston are down for nap/rest.  I try to nap then, but on occasion the newborn in the house overrules that plan, and needs to be rocked.  I still get some downtime, which has really helped a TON.  Mom has been bringing back whatever kid she's had for the day around 4pm, and staying until Tyler gets home, helping with the bath/pajamas/backyard clean up routine.  She has been AMAZING.  Addison just keeps getting cuter as each day passes by!  There are definitely moments every day that I shake my head and say, "We have FOUR kids!" but there are also times when we are all snuggled on the couch together, or just doing normal things, and I think, "We have FOUR kids! :-)"  Addison just completes are family of 6 in a way that I never knew that we needed.  We love you sweet girl!

 She has quite the pout!

What Wyatt did to celebrate being THREE!

donuts
sausage
candles
"Happy Birthday to You" about 6 times
cheesy smiles
"It's my Birthday!" about a gazillion times
playing at the park
Subway sandwiches from the NEW Everson Subway
cupcakes from Aunt Tara
playing with cousins
nap time
swimming in the pool
pizza for dinner
holding Addison
opening presents
playing "bear"

What more could a three year old hope for?

Weston's dog...

Weston was at Grandpa and Grandma's this afternoon, harassing the neighbor dog.  It was time to head back home, and Tyler was trying to convince him to leave without putting up a fuss.

Daddy:  Weston, let's go!  You can play with your own dog at home!

Weston:  My dog's dying.

:-)

...and then they ALL came home

The only thing more scary than driving Addison home on the Mt. Baker Highway was the moment when ALL her brothers were home at the same time!  RUH-ROH!  :-)  Weston was so excited, and very proud of his sister.  Wyatt kept saying "My sister, Addison Kay"  Stinkin' precious.  Weston and Wyatt had spent the day with a very good friend of mine, who treated them like royalty and fed them until they were actually FULL (and trust me, that takes A LOT!)  I think Tyler and I said at least a dozen times, "We have FOUR kids."  There is just no way to prepare yourself for that reality!

Heading for HOME!

After 3 full days in the hospital, by Monday I was feeling well enough to venture home.  Addison was doing GREAT.  Never a temperature issue or anything!  She had a slight (12.8) jaundice level, and had lost 9% of her body weight and was down to 7 pounds 10 ounces, but neither was a concern, and all pretty normal.  Tyler and Wayne were coming to pick us up, and when they arrived around 10:30, Addison and I were packed and ready, and had even had a short nap!  Wayne was SO excited to see his baby sister go outside for the FIRST time, and catch her first breath of FRESH air.  That moment is always a little surreal for me...  such a FIRST and yet so easy and so natural and something we all take for granted.  She was wearing a cute zebra print romper, with her white hoodie sweatshirt, and a crocheted hat from Grandma.  She looked SO TINY in her huge carseat!  Tyler proudly carried her, and Wayne helped carry stuff too, and out to the Denali we went.  It was a quiet trip home, with not a PEEP made from Addison, and a running commentary from Wayne on what she was doing "Her eyes are closed.  They are still closed.  She's moving her face but her eyes are closed."  I'm afraid her brothers will be reporting on her every move for many years to come!
