I've been scrapping again!

and I am actually making some progress...  I'm through October 15, 2009!  I am also refining my digital scrapping style, and really enjoying creating pages again.  It's hard to believe how much the boys have all changed in the past 10 months too.  Hope you enjoy the pages!

I think we're alone now,

there doesn't seem to be anyone around!!!

It's 8am, and I've been alone for an hour.  Weird.  Strange.  Odd.  Wyatt is still asleep, and Tyler, Wayne AND Weston all left at 7am to meet Grandpa to go crabbing.  Wayne was so excited he could hardly sleep last night, and that was after he woke up at 4am on Friday to go fishing with Tyler and Uncle Ryan on Baker Lake (more on that later.)  Weston wasn't sure what was going on, he just knew that he was bundled up, had his blankie and binkie, and was getting to go bye-bye with Daddy and Wayne.  Good enough for him!  I myself am at a bit of a loss around here.  I have been BUSY the past few days.  On Thursday we had Trisha and Paige for coffee, Wyatt's one year check up, we watered the flowers at the cemetary, and Taylor and I cleaned the house, I did all of the flower beds, cleaned the pool, and I washed and folded 5 loads of laundry.  Friday was a little less busy, but not by much.  Now, all my work is done, the house is quiet, and I plan on scrapping until Wyatt wakes up!  Oh, and praying that our babies are good and that they have fun!

Rules for being home alone (with Wyatt)
1.  No housework
2.  No cartoons
3.  Go to the bathroom by myself
4.  Coffee on the patio

Stats

Wyatt had his 1 year well-child appointment, and guess what?  He's WELL!  :-)  He's looking like a healthy, petite, one year old, and I am so thankful for every little inch of him!

Here are his stats, and that of Wayne and Weston at 1 year too:

Name-Height & %, Weight & %, Head & %

Wyatt- 29 1/3 inches 30%, 18 lbs 6oz. 0%, 46cm 45%
Weston-31 inches 80%, 20lbs. 11 oz 20%, 47.5cm 75%
Wayne- 31 3/4 inches 95%, 28 lbs. 52%,

Yikes!  Wayne was TEN POUNDS heavier than Wyatt at one year old.  No wonder Wyatt always feels like such a baby to me!

While mom's away, her kiddo's play.

While at work today, I got a message to go check THIS out.

I no longer wanted to be at work.

Freeze!

I can't believe that it is almost August.  While summer was late to get rolling, it sure has arrived in full force.  I think we've had two weeks of 80's + weather, and have taken full advantage.  I guess you can tell that from the recent blog posts!  :-)  Around here, we are just having a fabulous time.  The boys are just that much older, and are in a really fun and dare-I-say easy stage.   I just can't believe how smart and talented each of them are, all that they are learning, saying, and EATING!  There are so many things I want to savor, and I feel like time is steam rolling ahead, and I know that that is a good thing, but I also wish it would just FREEZE for just a little while.  Things are just perfect now, and I don't want to blink for fear the leaves will start changing color, the mornings are cooler, and *GASP* Wayne goes to preschool.

  • Weston is saying more words every day.  True to his brother, who was around 2 3/4 when he started talking in 2 word sentences, I think Weston is right on the same path.  BUT, he is definitely broadening his vocabulary.  Here are his recent additions:  out, chicken, jump, snack, milk, stink, dinkie, more, please, and tree.  Mixed in amongst about a dozen grunts!  I swear he could be a cave man.  Each grunt has it's own meaning.
  • Wayne says the funniest things.  Recently from the mouth of my baby:  "It's okay mom, I got it under control."  "There's a party in my stomach!"  "You gotta get me some FOOD!"  And when I'm singing him his much begged for lullaby before bed, "That's enough singing now Mom, I'm tired and need to go to sleep."
  • Last night Wayne wandered into our room, and after a few minutes of snuggling, and with him talking to himself (it was 2am) I wishfully told him, "You need to go back to your own bed and go to sleep."  He said, "Okay Mom" and left our room, climbed into his bed, and went back to sleep.
  • Wyatt is pulling himself up on everything, and his new favorite hangout is the patio doors.  He pulls up on his knees, looks out the window, and bangs his hands on the glass.  Then, to really have fun, he puts his face up to the glass and gives us the "puffer fish" face!  Then, he falls over because he's laughing too hard to keep his balance.
  • Weston has become QUITE the lover-boy.  He runs up to me constantly, and likes to hug my leg.  And not let go.  For five minutes.  He also gives me kisses all the time, and likes to pinch my cheeks while he's at it.  His hair is bleached blonde from the son, and he is so tan, we're calling him "hey little tan-man!"  And we love his hugs... he wraps his arms tightly around our necks, and holds on like his life depends on it.
  • Wyatt refuses to drink from anynthing but a bottle, and anything but milk.
  • Wayne has started watering up at the cemetary, all by himself.  He gets out of the car while I wait and watch, carries the water over, dumps half in each pot, and runs back.
  • I spend at least 3 hours each day with 2 or more boys on my lap, snuggling and "talking about our day."

The Silves Splash Park is CLOSED for business....

... but the Silves Pool Party is ON!
After several failed pool purchases this year, I think we have finally found something that will work well for us.  The first pool was too small, the second pool was not strong enough for our rowdy boys, but the THIRD pool is a HIT!

And what is not to love?  10 feet across, and a water depth of just over 2 feet, it's the perfect size for the boys, and even for us to go in and enjoy it with them.  Wayne is ecstatic about it, and told me right away that it was too big to move, so we should definitely keep it.  I am with you, buddy!

So on Sunday, we had to have Madelyn and her parents over for a dip.

The boys had waaaaay too much fun dunking Uncle Ryan.
And Mr. Adventurous himself has taken to going under water all by himself.  Tricky!!!

So as our temperatures climb each day, ask yourself this.

Is it time for a pool party?

A day at the Bay

Tyler's Mom and Duane have a place out at Birch Bay, and she invited all the grandkids and their mama's to come for a swim and lunch.  The boys and I scrambled to get ready, watered flowers, and then high-tailed it to the bay!  First was swimming.  I don't think anyone could believe what a water-baby Weston was.  And poor Wayne... I only blew up half his floaties, so he couldn't figure out why he was riding so low in the water.  Lesson learned!
Paige and Brenna, two sisters having fun!
The 4th Silves boy....
It's a fish..no wait, it's Brenna!
It wasn't long before the Silves boys were hungry for a snack, so they all got out and shared fruit snacks and cookies.  I think only Paige and Wyatt are missing from this shot.  Best I could do!
Shortly after snack time came lunch time.
Weston and Wyatt hung out in their stroller, since the table was full.
See, Wyatt was there!!!

The King of the Worms

On Saturday, July 24, the Great Flood of 2010 occurred in our backyard.  I've been trying to find the "PERFECT POOL" for the boys all summer, and thought that I had found it... An 8foot snapset style pool, setup on our patio.  We had Ethan over, and all three big boys were playing and playing and playing in it, for over an hour.  As they played, the whole thing started to lean, because it wasn't strong enough to handle all of their shananigans.  Finally, the pool could not last any longer, and gave way to a 500 gallon tidal wave that tore across the entire backyard.  As the water receded, THEY came out.  The worms.  The nighcrawlers.  By the dozens and dozens, they were climbing out of the ground in an attempt not to drown.

They thought they were safe.

And then, they met the King of the Worms.

Ethan grabbed a bucket, and started collecting them all.  Wayne helped him, and you would have thought they were finding gold nuggets.  They were SO excited.  And Weston?  Weston was screaming like a girl at them, absolutely disgusted.  Ethan was very, very proud of his little collection, and I have to admit, seeing all of those worms in that bucket, squirming and slithering around made me shake and shiver from my head to my toes.  Ulgh.

P.S.  Uncle Deryl, if you ever need worms for fishing, just call us, we can deliver!

I've dreamed of days like this

Ever since we began the task of creating our own boys basketball team, I've dreamed of the days when our precious babies are old enough to go fishing with their Dad.  Last summer when Tyler would go, leaving me home with all three kids, I distinctly remember thinking, "Some vacation for me!  Someday...  someday our babies will be old enough to go along, and I'll be left with no kids!"

Fast forward 12 months, and Tyler had off on Thursday and it was opening day (I've learned there are A LOT of opening days, not just one.) on Baker Lake for sockeye, and Tyler and Todd wanted to go fishing.  Well, Wayne caught wind of that, and couldn't let them leave without him.  After the Silver Lake opening day "I want my mommy" trip of 2010, Tyler was VERY hesitant to let Wayne come.  They were leaving at 7am, and wouldn't be back until 2 or 3pm, so that was going to be a very long "I want my mommy" trip if it turned into one.  Never-the-less, there was no way Tyler could tell his first born so no, when Wayne was saying, "But you need me to catch those fish, they can be fast, but I am tricky!"  So, off they went!
As I took this photo, I distinctly remember thinking, "If Wayne cries too much, Todd will throw him overboard!"
I am super proud to report that it was a very successful trip in that Wayne and Tyler AND even Todd enjoyed themselves.  Wayne loved every minute, and even though the fish weren't biting, they had a good time.  Tyler was so impressed, you could've knocked him over with a feather!

While they were out, Weston and Wyatt and I went to Bellingham to run errands.  When Wayne was our lonely only, my mom used to watch him so that I could go to Bellingham to do the Costco/Walmart shuffle, and now the second I am down to two, I run to get my errands done.  How far we've come!  :-)

Happy 1st Birthday Wyatt

Wyatt's FIRST birthday started off with "1" shaped pancakes.  That boy can EAT!  He's down to only 3 or 4 ounces of formula, about 3 times a day.  He is FAR more interested in his high chair than his bottle.
After breakfast, we packed up and headed to Bender's playground (playground #4 for the summer)  It was a little chilly, but fun to be at this park instead of the City Park.  It's just easier to keep track of the kids here.  We had as many cousins as could make it meet us there, and my mom was even able to stop in.  We tried having Beppe come out, but she wasn't up for it.  It was a blast watching all the kids run and run and run, and it was a guarantee that nap time would be long and quiet!  :-)
Have I told you lately how much I love this girl?  The maturity that she has shown in the past few months is astounding.  She is patient with the kids, kind, thoughtful, and compassionate.  She is also helpful, ambitious, and....  I just love her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pure trouble.  Two Silves boys + the 4th Silves boy = Trouble!  What will we do when Wyatt is up there too?
Speaking of Wyatt...  I think he had fun, don't you?
Seven Cousins Sat on a Bench.
After the park and lunch, it was back home for the afternoon round of naps, and then we just played and had a nice afternoon/evening.  Wyatt eventually opened his last gifts from us, but he was TIRED and ready for bed.  It's a lot of work being one!

First Birthday Celebration

After MUCH anticipation, after church, it was FINALLY time for Wyatt's FIRST birthday BASH!  Wayne for one was beyond excited!
I vowed that I would not take the easy way out of this party... Wyatt is the third boy, and has plenty of hand me downs and plenty of times where he plays quietly by himself while I take care of his brothers.  Not this time!  He was going to have a big party, and be the center of it all!!!
We had about 50 people over, all immediate or very close family.  For food, we had blueberries, watermelon, cabbage salad, 7 layer salad, potato salad, chips, rolls, 3 different kinds of meatballs, baked beans, and then lots of juice, water, and pop.
Wyatt made his way around the group, but any time I looked at him, he was doing this.  Just sitting on someone's lap, or laying his head on their shoulder.  He is so cute, and everyone loves to hold him, because he is so snuggly!
And NO ONE could believe how much the little boy can eat!  He is down to drinking just 3-4 ounce bottles, and only 3 times each day.  I'm finishing the can of formula, and switching him to whole milk!  Now, if only I could get him to drink from a sippy cup...
Paiger's....  Gotta love her!
See, I told you there were 50 people!
What kid doesn't like to wear a party hat?
I loved this.  Wyatt's first gift was in a big bag, and he crawled right in!
A book from Aunt Thelma and clan.  They were here from IOWA for Pake's service, and stayed for Wyatt's party!

Part of our present to Wyatt was this police car.
And I've been saving the best for last...  Wyatt eating his cake!  Here's a hint of what is to come:  I took SEVENTY pictures of him eating his cake.  Hah!
