Where did the time go?

I put the boys down for naps a few minutes ago, and thought I'd scrap for a little while before eating lunch and taking a nap. I just heard Weston waking up, and imagine my shock when I saw that it's been TWO hours since I sat down at the computer! How did I get so off task and involved in my scrapping?!? At least Weston is now to May 21 of THIS YEAR! Yes folks, I'm within 10 days of being caught up on him.... Hip hip HOORAY! It's so much fun to scrap pictures that just happened too... here are a few recent pages. Better go get Weston, and lunch!

Top 5 Reasons we like this Weather!

5. Always something to do, gardening and playing, all OUTSIDE.
4. It makes things grow, green and great!
3. Water. We have lots of fun with water. and mud.
2. The days seem much longer, with lots of time after the boys go to bed to do things!
1. The kiddos are so tuckered out, they take naps, and go to bed by 7/7:30 too. All that sunshine and water tuckers them out.

my highspeed's back!

Not sure what the deal was, but ALL DAY yesterday my internet was on the fritz. It was running like dial up!!! Aaagh! Seriously, I'd rather lose my TV than my internet these days. I've got lots of downloading to do for scrapbooking, blogs to read, email to check (they shipped my Shutterfly book!) and tons of other things to do that let me "rest" while keeping me busy! :-) Seriously, does that doctor really think I can just sit down and do nothing? Yeah right! I'm not on bed rest or anything, he's just been adamant for the last month or two that I actually slow down and focus on taking care of the kiddos, only. Of course, that means stealing coffee dates here and there! We had one yesterday with Amanda and "Baby Girl" as Wayne is now calling her (apparently "Baby Grace" is old news!) The kids all played outside in the slip and slide for almost 2 hours. It was so fun to watch them pair up and play, switch partners, go off on their own, then come back and play again. They were SO GOOD. And lovin' the water! I have to crack up... when we're all done, we troop into the laundry room where Amanda and I have the routine DOWN... Weston in the sink for a hose down, Weston to the changing table and Grace to the sink, Grace to the changing table and Wayne to the sink, everyone out to the living room! Great fun! Sorry, no pictures. I was too lazy to come in for my camera. Amanda had hers out, so if you're lucky maybe she'll post a few! Today is pure lazyness and nothingness around these parts. We maaaay run into Bellingham this morning, I haven't decided yet. And we need to go water flowers at the cemetary, but other than that, it's babes outside in the water again today! Despite the sunscreen routine (I know, can you believe I'm being good about it?) both boys are getting quite the tans, and are attempting to establish a backyard nudist colony. Every time I turn my back, they strip to their scivies and think it's hysterical! Oh well, I guess there'd be less laundry. Hmm. Now there's a thought!

today - 79.4 degrees

What a day! It was so nice... the boys and I had tank tops on at 8am and we were not even shivering, and there were no goose bumps! All the men-folk of the house had haircuts at 8:30. They all sat very nicely for Melissa while she "cut their hairs." Afterwards, I dropped them off at home, then went to Bellingham for a doctor's appointment. All was well there, and now the baby is measuring large... about 2 weeks ahead of schedule! This is similar to where the boys were at this point too, so no concerns other than to say that he/she is growing by leaps and bounds at this point. After I got home, the boys had lunch and went down for naps, and Tyler went out and clipped the dogs nails, cleaned their ears, and gave them baths. Finally! He's been so busy, he's not had a chance this year yet, but now it is DONE. We are promising each other that it will get done every 2 weeks from here on out.
Weston was up less than 90 minutes after going down. He put him in swim trunks and sunscreen, and let him play in a bucket of water (of course, he tried to stick his head in it first. He is such an animal!)
Wayne was up around 3pm, so we got him in trunks and sunscreen, then setup the slip and slide he got for his birthday. Weston of course dove right in to the pool end, and both boys had a blast. They played for an hour and a half, and didn't seem to care that the water was FREEZING.
Weston was riding Wayne's trike, his own way.
Oopsies! Now this is more like it!
Being the first time they've ever seen a slip and slide, the boys needed a little tutorial in how it was done. I was HOWLING with laughter watching Tyler flinging himself down that thing, and the boys were cheering him on, shouting, "more more, more!" I think he said that it had been a good 15 years since he'd slipped and slid his way down one.
Need a drink?
The three Silves boys... soon to be four? Or will they have a little girl to squeeze in?

a cutie pa-tutie!

Yesterday afternoon, I also took pictures for my 3 month old niece Paige, and my 9 month old niece Madelyn. Trust me, they are two very cute little girls!!! My sister would kill me if I posted pictures before she was able to hand them out, but I think Trisha would allow a sneak peak... here are two!
Seriously, is she not just adorable!!!????

I can't believe that she is 3 months old already. Time flies when you are having fun! She is SUCH a good baby... and her mama is madly, deeply, crazy in love with her! (Her auntie is pretty fond of her too! :-)

Do you want s'mores?

Last night we ate dinner on the patio... roasted hot dogs, vegetables, and baked beans. BUT, I didn't take any pictures. Then we put Weston to bed, and Wayne, Tyler and I went out and planted the garden. BUT, I didn't take any pictures. Then the three of us had smores around the fire (they did anyway) and Wayne was so stinkin' cute chowing down on his shmellows and chocolate, I HAD to go and get the camera!!!!

And then today.... A delightful day if I do say so myself! I'll post on it later!

Weston's first year scrapbook.... ORDERED!!!!

I just placed my Shutterfly order.... I finished Weston's first year of digital scrapping, and placed my order in time to receive the 25% off and free shipping going on through tonight. It was a 12x12, 85 page book, and after Ebates 10% back, I got it for $122, which breaks down to $1.22 per page, and including all of the pictures, embellishments, and the chocolate brown leather book. GO ME! :-) It's scheduled to arrive June 4-9 sometime. Yippee!!!

DINNER...

was a hit!

and was quickly followed by a bath.

this is

not normal! Weston woke up at 7:30 this morning, a little later than his usual 6 or 6:30, then went down for a nap around 9, and is STILL SLEEPING! What the heck? Wayne and I don't know what to do with ourselves... We snuggled, had coffee, played a game, cleaned for awhile, did laundry, scrapbooked a little bit, then decided to convert the office into a toy room. After that, we did the dishes, and it's almost lunch time and... THIS IS NOT NORMAL! :-) How strange. We'll see what the afternoon has in store! :0) Maybe Weston and I will work in the office - scratch that. The TOY room, while Wayne takes a nap. Oh yeah, and I have to come up with something for dinner. I am accepting suggestions... what are YOU making for dinner? At this rate, it's going to be 7 layer casserole without the potatoes, so if you are sympathetic towards Tyler, offer up something else, or he's stuck with it!

This weather... after today's rainy spell, expect the next week or so to be near or above 70 degrees with sunshine EVERY day! At least, that's the current forecast. They are even saying 80 for next Wednesday. Bring on summer! I can't wait to get the slip and slide out for the boys, they are going to love that. So, while I was going to come on and whine about the weather, after checking my sources, I will postpone the whine for another rainy day... sunshine is coming!

Scrapping update! Weston is now into 2009! Hip,hip horray. It is so fun going through the older pictures and getting them scrapped, but I do love looking at the more recent pictures as well. What a cutie he was, is, and is to come. A few more pages, and I'll be able to upload the last of his pages to Shutterfly and then order his first book. There should be around 90 12x12 pages in it, and I am super excited to see my first digital scrapbook and be able to touch and feel it, rather than just see it on my computer screen!

Okay, it's 11:45 and Weston is still sleeping. Have I mentioned this is not normal?

Ski-to-Sea

I can't believe it's memorial day weekend again! I was a little disappointed not to have a BBQ here this year, but with the boys being gone, it just didn't happen. However, my mom did surprise me and came by for a good hour or so to watch the festivities. I loved being able to actually talk to her (a rarity the last few weeks with everything going on) and also to be able to sit outside because I had her to help with the boys. They were really, really good too, which was a huge help! Throughout the morning we were watching things from the front room... a few thoughts that come to mind...
  • Too many wannabe's out there,
  • Everson's hippy to hick ratio was turned upside down,
  • where on earth do people get the idea to walk all over someone's lawn, lay on it, and throw their bike down on it?
  • Why can't parents watch their little kids, when they are walking along a busy street! (I fully understand that kids can bolt... I'm talking about walking 30 feet behind a 2 year old on the sidewalk.)
  • People are funny to watch, especially when they are pointing and gesturing at your own house, plants and yard. I mean, do they forget that someone's actually inside the house, and more than likely watching THEM?
  • The boy scouts need to go to bed sooner... They campout at the park and charge a small amount per canoe to "watch" them. From the hoots and screams at 1am, there either was a major canoe thief out there, or some serious shananigans.
  • Not that there's ever a chance of it, but if I ever rode the biking leg of Ski-to-Sea, finished in the top 20, and my teammate wasn't ready for the handoff.... I'd hurt them B-A-D!
  • Does my tailored, tidy, lawn look like a garbage can? Didn't think so.
  • There's something inspiring about watching 400 bikers who've just ridden 18 miles come across their finish line... even a 3 year old has to go get his bike out to be like the big boys!

Here the boys are, enjoying their morning snack from the porch. Both of them sat so nice, and all it took was one evil eye from mom to get them sitting again if they got up! Our view
The cutest biggest boy around... Wayne had to ride his bike... Grandma was trying to teach him to pedal! After awhile, Weston got "contained." Wayne got distracted for quite sometime by all of these "buggies." When I walked over to see, I discovered he'd found an ant hill and had ticked off dozens and dozens of "buggies." Thankfully, they are not the biting kind. This is right in front of our driveway... nice, huh? Some crazy people thought they could call in their iced coffee orders from across the street... Of course, I'm the one who ran in to make them! :-) After a pottie break that was NOT in a 4x4 foot blue cube, they were back on their way again. Wayne was making himself at home... Nose wipe (the towel, that's what Wayne calls it) and blankie in tow!

The girls went "fishing"

Since the boys are gone fishing, we girls took advantage and had our annual "girls night out" tonight too! As much as I love and adore the kiddos, I do look forward to leaving them with a babysitter this night, so that I have a small break in the middle of the fishing trip. If any of you are thinking this was a mature, relaxing, dinner with the girls..... YOU DON'T KNOW US! I laughed so much tonight, my stomach hurts! All we did was have dinner at Anthony's and return home, but that took 4 hours. Aunt Shelly and her girls, Kelsey and Bailey, were there, and my mom, Tara and Breanne too. We have one more seat left in the Suburban, and we'll have to see if someone can't fill it next year! :-) Dinner was great, but more than that, these are all just wonderful women who know how to have a good time. You'll all be happy to know that there were NO police chases tonight (unlike last year) and we were home by 10pm. It's nights like tonight where I realize how much my little cousins have grown up, and I love getting to know them as adults, with minds of their own. It was great to see Breanne too, and nice to be able to visit without having the boys. Things I don't want to forget about tonight:
  • The weather was beautiful, the sunset gorgeous
  • Google
  • driving
  • the girl on the sidewalk

Stay tuned for a Ski to Sea post tomorrow... the fences are up, and we're ready to watch the handoffs from our front porch!

gone fishing

We are now on day 2 of the annual boys fishing trip, and we are soooo loving this weather! It does my heart good to look out the window and see sunshine, and to be able to open the window, and to put the boys in shorts and GO OUTSIDE! Walks are a little different this year. Wayne is too big for the stroller, so now he is free as a bird, and learning to stay close, on the sidewalk, and BE SAFE! It's a common theme around here. Speaking of getting them dressed... I've recently realized that each day I wake up in the mood for a certain color. I grab clothes for them, and 9 times out of 10 they coordinate. It's a red day, a blue day, a black day, or a yellow day! And, funny enough.... my shirt usually matches them too! I am so strange. I just love seeing little Weston in shorts and a tank top. His skin is still baby soft, but it's also scratched and bruised like any good toddler boys' would be! He has really been making his opinion and wants known these days, which is kind of strange and fun all at the same time. Who knew he knew what he wanted? Gone are the "go along with whatever mom does" days. I think he is such a big boy, and I know that come July, he will seem even bigger!

I've been using the weekend to get things done around here. Both boys were in bed by 7 last night, and by 9 I had completed an insane amount of chores around the house, including 7 loads of laundry. It's amazing how fast laundry goes without the 1 year old attacking my piles! I will say that as my stomach grows, it's getting a little lopsided to carry the laundry basket... we've switched to the side hip hold from here on out! What else... we got the shelf in the laundry room hung just before Tyler left, and now I am working on finishing up the labels for the baskets/jars on the shelf. Talk about some cricut fun! Wayne's been practicing riding his new bike, flowers are starting to bloom... the garden is ready to be planted, all my pots are full and flowing with annuals, herbs are growing, it's starting to feel like summer around here!

I can't believe there are only 8 or so more weeks to go until baby #3 arrives. That times is going to fly by, if the past 8 weeks are any indication. I've picked up a few new things, mostly replacements for things the first two animals have trashed, as well as unisex summer things like short sleeved onesies. I'm not sure about this summer baby thing... I'm used to bundling baby boys in blankets and heavy covers in the middle of winter!

Okay folks, time to get back to the kiddos. Snack time is over, we already had craft time, Weston is up from his nap (a belated mother's day gift to me!) and lunch is still an hour away (even though Wayne is hungry now... he's always hungry. He ate waffles, sausage, and jello for breakfast, and had a coronary when I cut him off... seriously!) Toodles!

(a walk to the park)

After a quiet morning at home, I brought the boys to their Auntie's house late this morning, while I went to a meeting for work. They pretty much ate lunch and then went down for naps. I got back just before 2pm, and since they were both still sleeping, Tanya and I were able to play around with digital scrapbooking. Yippee! The boys woke up around the same time Tanya's girl were home from school, so we packed them all up and walked to the park. We walked very s.l.o.w.l.y all the way there, because there's not a really good way that we know of to rush 2 three year olds. We finally arrived, and the kiddos played and ran around for a good 45 minutes before it was time to head back for dinner. Since they were playing, I decided to pull out my camera and play too!
Wayne knows he has to wear his helmet when he rides is bike or scooter, but he kept calling it his hat. I told him that it was called a "helmet." He looked at me, and said, "I need my hel-hat." Close buddy, very close. We'll get there.
Who couldn't love these shots of Weston? He was mid-swing, and LOVING it!
The Boogs... some people call her Alyssa, I think.
Efan monster...

Trouble. :-)
The darling Scheiber clan, minus their man.
Weston went down the toddler slide for the first time. He would get to the bottom, and while signing for "more" would also say "mo, mo, mo" with it. His first official word besides ma-ma! (We've received tutoring from Grace lately.)
Wayne was saying, "I squeeze him, no big owies!" because he didn't want Weston to fall out of the swing. Good boy Wayne!
Gazing at the sky, thinking, "Life is good!"
Auntie and Weston, taking each other in.
By the time we started walking back, Wayne was absolutely exhausted. As we rounded the corner to their house, he could barely lift one foot in front of the other. He kept asking for me to carry him, and I felt awful telling him I couldn't (I've already got one child I'm packing around all day long!) Auntie offered to carry him, but he only wanted his mom. Both boys were so good, and it just felt great to be outside and warm again. Who knew you could go outside and not need a sweatshirt?
