Givin' Up!

It's now 10:15pm and we are back from Mom and Dad's. We went and had dinner with Ryan and Tara, and my Aunt Debbie and cousin McKenzie. It was a wonderfully good time! Wayne had pigs in a blanket for the first time, and they were a serious hit (Grandpa was pretty proud!) The food was delicious, and I was even able to bring some, which tells you how good I am feeling (comparatively speaking, of course!) After dinner, everyone was so tired we couldn't even play games, we just watched the Sonics game and talked. Wayne was in bed by 7:30 or 8:00 or so, so things were relaxing and wonderful. It was quite a day... My dad and two of his co-workers, who we don't even know, came and put the roof on the garage. They were such fun, and so generous with their time, we can't thank these men we don't know enough! God is so good, and we have been in awe at the ways he has poured out his love! The roof looks great, and it is such a relief to have another step complete. Finally, why the title "Givin' up?" Well, that's because it's 10:18pm now, and I am going to bed. I am not in labor and don't have any contractions at the moment, so I think my hopes of a 2007 tax deduction are completely over. Oh well.. Baby Weston can come when he is supposed to! In his own time! Happy New Year to you all!

One giant step towards manhood!

Today, our little baby boy, became a boy. A big boy! Aaahhh, where do I begin? I'll start with yesterday. Tyler's darling sister and her handsome husband, Tanya and Jason, came over to take Wayne's crib apart and move it into his "big boy" bedroom. We needed the crib out of the nursery because I will need to be able to use the changing table and rocking chair in the middle of the night with Weston, without waking Wayne (at least, that's the theory!) They moved the crib, and Wayne took one nap in it in his new room, and slept in it last night again. However, this morning is where things turned terribly wrong. While we were getting ready, Tyler heard a funny scream from Wayne. He went into the new room, and found Wayne dangling over the front of the crib, head first. He was trying to reach his binkie and blankie which he had thrown on the floor, and was stuck. There was no going back, and only one way to fall! Tyler scooped him up, and declared that he was not sleeping in his crib again! So... Wayne took his nap today in his big boy bed, and went to bed there tonight too. He has not yet cried, and he stays in bed so far. He sleeps with Tyler's pound puppies from when he was little. The look on his face as I lay him down is priceless... it's as if he is saying, "I am so cool, I get to stay in this bed!" So, one giant leap towards manhood! Enjoy the pictures!

(I know, I know, for all of you who tried to convince me that Wayne could move to a bed... he was ready, his Mom and Dad were not!)

Oh, and I want to say, "Hello!" to my cousin Kenna, who just today told me she was an avid reader of my blog! (She's in the 3rd grade!)

And Uncle Jason and Aunt Tanya.... could you please move the crib back into the nursery? :-)

Wayne's Blood Pressure

Yesterday I walked into the living room to find Wayne sitting on the loveseat, where I normally sit. He was just sitting, there, watching a T.V. show. As I did a double take, I noticed that he had got ahold of my blood pressure machine, and set it beside him. Then he had pulled the cuff up on his arm, just like I do. He was holding the pumping bulb in his hand. Tyler and I were nearly hysterical with laughter! Wayne just looked at us like, "What?"

Also, when I went to give Wayne his bath, he managed to snake his blanket into the tub with him. At that point his blanket was already wet, so we had our morning bath with a binkie and blankie... Wayne was a very happy boy!

Christmas - One Huge Post!

Christmas was so much fun this year... I didn't really think about how different it would be, because Wayne is almost 2 now, so I was delightfully surprised! He did really well throughout all the parties, and we were adamant about him getting his naps in. In fact, on Christmas day he even took two naps! He was so fun... tearing into paper and boxes, playing with his toys, and eating to his hearts content! Thank you to everyone who made it so special, and who put so much thought into his gifts. Even baby Weston made out well this year! I can't wait to dress him in all of the cute clothes. We opened our gifts on Monday morning with Wayne. It took all morning, which was perfect for us! He had great fun too, although he started before his clothes were even on! He took a good nap, and then we went to visit Grandma Groen for awhile. After that we rushed home so that I could rest, and then spent the evening at DeGroot's. It was a wonderful party, and fun to see my cousins. We are all getting so old! It was different to go to parties with an almost 2 year old though... We don't stay as late as we otherwise would, because Wayne has to go to bed! Christmas morning was slow and relaxed, and we met up with Tyler's family at his sister's house. We had latte's and opened gifts, ate lunch and opened more gifts! It was nice to just be able to relax, and let the kids run around. Wayne was a dolly, and took a great nap there. We came home where I crashed for a good nap, and then went up to my parents house for Christmas with my family (minus Todd - see the previous posting on Toddikah!) We had such a great time. The food was delicious (only regret is that I couldn't eat much because baby Weston is getting so big!) and we had a wonderful time together. Wayne played in the wrapping paper for a good 20 minutes, and it was music to our ears to hear him laughing and squealing with joy. He played with all his new toys, and was quite a delight. Whew! That's Monday and Tuesday in a nutshell! I will post another entry of just pictures in the morning. Good night!

We take a break from Christmas for a baby update..

Hi All!

I just wanted to let you all know how my appointment today went. In a word, it was uneventful. The bloodwork and non-stress test (NST) both turned out fine, and they continue to be surprised at how much this baby moves! (Tyler and I are a little nervous for his arrival!) The doctor debated over my medication dosage, but finally was just not comfortable having me reduce it to once a day, so I still take it twice a day but a lower dosage. He wants to see how that goes. My blood pressure has been really good 80% of the time, a little elevated 15% of the time, and too high about 5% of the time. So, I just keep a really close eye on that, but otherwise can basically putt-putt around the house as long as I feel okay. This is REALLY hard on Tyler, as he would prefer to see me sitting or resting all day long, just so that he knows I'm okay. Today's prayer is that he would trust me when I tell him I'm fine, and know that this is all in God's hands, not his! :-)

Sunday's Events

Okay, I know I am behind, so I will do my best to catch up. I'll post pictures tomorrow when I get back to my desktop computer. Sunday morning started off with a run to the doctor's office. Wayne has been acting not quite like his chipper self, and we just wanted to confirm that it was all the crazyness in his life these days, and not an ear infection. They got us in early, and we were able to make it to church only about 15 minutes late, and in time to hear Katie VanKooten sing! (A Christmas highlight!) Wayne was absolutely fine, and was very cooperatives with the doctor. It was wonderful to be back in church again, and great to see all the familiar faces. It got a little harried at the end, because Wayne decided no one else would do except his Mom. He wanted me to hold him, but I can't do that standing up for very long. He threw a hissy fit, and my Dad had to carry him out to the Jeep for me. Even Grandpa was surprised at how strong willed Wayne was! We came home and Wayne went straight to bed. After he woke up, we went to my Aunt Barb's for Christmas with the extended Scheenstra family. It was so much fun, and so great to see her family. Wayne was thrilled that Lucas and Amy brought their dog, and that entertained him a good portion of the time. Oh, and the food was delicious! Lots and lots of appetizers, perfect for me this year! (I am getting to the point where space is at a premium in this belly of mine!) Then... we went to Mom and Dad's for Toddikah. What is Toddikah you ask? It is what happens when Todd has to leave for work on Christmas day, and gets his own private Christmas celebration (similar, as he says, to Hannukah!) It was so fun, and Wayne had a blast with the dinasaur that Uncle Todd gave him. A huge robotic, remote controlled dinasaur! Picture to come...

That's Sunday for you! I will diligently post until we are caught up... I have labwork, and NST and an appointment in the morning. Christmas day and today have been a little rough for me, so we'll see how my appointment goes tomorrow. I'll let you all know!

Lots to Blog About!

Saturday was a big day around here. It was utter crazyness after all of the long slow days we've had around here (well, relatively speaking!) We had a workcrew of 5 guys come, and just when they were about to call it quits because of the weather, the rain eased up and they decided to go for it! In 6 hours of working, they set the trusses, built a truss, set the barge board, and sheeted the roof!!! They are amazing. Tyler was even able to head out and help them in the afternoon while I rested (Wayne napped at my mom's... he would not have slept with all of the hammering and sawing going on!) We also went to see Grandma Silves for Christmas. It was my very first outing, other than Mom's and the doctor's in a month, and I will admit it was a little overwhelming. Despite being on the medication, my blood pressure was definitely elevated when we got home, so I rested most of the afternoon. It was a good reminder that I really do have to take it easy, and that the medication is doing it's job with contractions, as well as helping with my blood pressure, but it's not a cure all! Then, last night we went to Vanderpol's for our Christmas gathering there. It was great fun, and everyone was so helpful and gracious to allow me to sit and rest, and to help Tyler with Wayne. Wayne had to eat his own twice baked potato (two of them) and would not let us help him! We headed for home by 8:45 and Wayne fell asleep on the way. Oh, and the party did not overdo me. Actually, I checked my pressure again before taking my medication, and it was in the tank, which is where it's at more often than not! As Dr. Mora says "I love what it does to your blood pressure!" So, that's Saturday in a nut shell. I'll post a slideshow of pictures when I can figure out how, and I'll post on Sunday later!

As the days go by

Well, one by one the days are coming and going! We are doing well, and settling back into family life around here. Well, it's a little modified, but it works! I have learned to relax quite a bit about the state of cleanliness in our house. I have learned to let Tyler do things for me. I have learned that Christmas comes whether I am busy and scheduled, or relaxed and laid back! It has definitely been a strange year. Why? Online shopping, for one. Not being out in stores to see the hustle and bustle (30 minutes in Walmart before my last appointment, walking slow and taking it easy was about enough to make me hyperventilate!!!!) Our family has been so gracious, and insisted that we bring nothing but ourselves to our gatherings. While I appreciate this greatly, it is also strange not to be cooking and baking, I love to do it! Oh well. There will be many Christmas's to come where I can do those things, but only one Christmas left to cook Weston for just a little bit longer! (We told the nurses in the hospital, when we were there over Thanksgiving that this turkey wasn't done cooking yet!)

Wayne is quite the little guy... He has 2 more teeth (he got them while he was at Grandma and Grandpa's. I just noticed them, so they were written in the baby book as both having come on December 20!) He weighs 29 pounds (Tyler has taught him how to stand on the bathroom scale. He thinks it's great fun.) We are excited to see his response to Christmas.... Especially the insane gift he is getting from his Uncle Todd (the single one, not the married one!) I've heard it's a robotic dinasaur that takes 6aa and 3aaa batteries, and is almost three feet long. Only Todd...

Tyler is doing well. He is pretty much off all pain killers now, which is good and bad. Good for him, but bad because he's kind of entertaining on them! :-) He is able to do more and more with Wayne, and even puts him to bed again (this is always his job, and he cherishes it! It's not really a job, we used to fight over who got to put him down, until it got too hard for me to carry him up the stairs!) Wayne and him keep wrestling, and Tyler has to be on his toes or Wayne will blind side him!

A garage update! As many of you know, the weekend I was in the hospital, a crew showed up and framed and sheeted the walls. Now, tomorrow, the same crew plus a few more are coming to set the trusses (remember, that was what Tyler was working on when he fell?) and sheet the roof, etc. We are so grateful to these men! It is important to get the exposed wood covered before the weather damages it. After tomorrow it will be ready for roofing and then wrapping plastic over the walls, which means that it is protected from the weather. It is such a huge relief to us to know that this is being taken care of so that the money already spent is not wasted by damaged wood, and that we don't have to hire anyone to do the work (not in the budget, and you know how I have to stay within budget!)

Today's Prayer Requests: This is a new addition to my posting. I am a firm believer, as are many of you, in praying specifically! So, for today, please pray for the safety of Saturday's work crew. Please also pray that my blood pressure stays under control throughout the holiday parties, and that my headaches are manageable despite lots of light and noise at the parties. Please thank the Lord for his goodness and faithfulness.

Humpty Dumpty back together again

Tyler had his appointment today... 2 1/2 hours later, we were done! His beat any OB appointment we've ever had, which gave us both a good laugh. They put on a new cast, which we were very ready and thankful for. It has been so loose on Tyler's arm, so now he is much more comfortable and secure (and Wayne proof!) The doctor gave us the above x-ray picture which was taken after surgery and shows what they did to put his bones (the ones they left in, they took out some bone chips too) back together again. He confirmed that he didn't think that Tyler would be back to work until 2 months after the accident, which would be early February. However, he is definitely able to do more and more around the house, and is a huge help to me.

I am doing pretty good. It's very strange to be able to get up and down and do a few things around here, and exhausting! We got home from his appointment, and I slept for an 1 hour (which is usually unheard of for me to take a nap!) Wayne is definitely a challenge to keep up with, but Tyler and I just keep saying... "Teamwork!" We are very excited for baby Weston to come, he will for sure be here 3 weeks from this coming Monday, which seems crazy! We are ready for him though (have been for awhile!)

Thank you to all of our friends and family who have been bringing meals. I cannot tell you how much they have helped us, and how much we have appreciated them, and your visits! Our doctors are so amazed by the help and support that we have, and we know that each of you is a blessing! Thank you!

Wayne is Home!!!

Tonight around 5pm.... Wayne came home! We are just thrilled, and I realize how much I have truly missed our little boy (who is not so little!) The first part of today just dragged by, I was just waiting to go to the doctor late this afternoon, to see how thing were going! I have felt good this last week, with no contractions, or at least very few (hello, I am 8 months pregnant!) First we had the NST (non-stress test) where everything looked good. The baby's hearbeat was regular and strong, and the nurse and doctor's still agree that this boy can move! I had to hit the button every time he moved, which got a little ridiculous! The bottom line was, baby looks good! We then met with my doctor who was very pleased with the baby's health, and with my own. However, he also modified his original plan (from last week) a little bit. I am being allowed off of bed rest, but only enough to hang around the house, have Wayne home most of the time, and go to some Christmas parties. I am still supposed to take it easy, rest, and limit my lifting and activity as much as I can while still having Wayne, etc. So, I am more than happy with this, and understand his reasons for still having me take it easy. Afterall, I have been on bed rest for 1 month! I am pretty out of shape, and my stomach muscles are not used to working so much! Anyhow... He also is not letting me wean away from my medication quite yet, he wants me to stay on them full strength at least another week. We discussed the reasons for this, and I agree with him, despite being a little disappointed. (For those who don't know, I have a headache pretty much all day, it's just a matter of how bad it is.) So, if you'd like to pray specifically for my headaches not to get bad during Christmas parties, I'd appreciate it!!! So, for now it's hanging around home with Wayne... I can't wait!

A Tyler update... he goes in for an appointment tomorrow, and we are pretty sure he will get a new cast. His old one is WAY to big on him now that the swelling has gone down. We also got an update on the man who fell off a ladder the day before Tyler's accident. They were in similar circumstances, except the other guy fell from the 2nd to the top step of a 10 foot ladder, and Tyler was on the 2nd to the top step of an 8 foot ladder. Both fell on concrete. The other guy has a broken vertabrae, ankle, wrist, and multiple broken ribs. He is still in rehab (not yet gone home) and is on permanent disability. Please pray for him and his family. And, if you'd like, please praise God along with us for his protection around Tyler. Yes, he had a broken elbow. But, did you know he never got a single bruise from the fall? Not a one. I checked several times! We both know that the Lord protected him, and that our lives are in his hands. Praise Him!!!

A new week beginning...

Okay, first of all, I am sorely disappointed with our poll results! There were 13 people who voted, and 11 of you thought baby Weston would be here by New Year's! I must say, I was shocked! I thought for sure that the overwhelming answer would be in 2008. For the record, my vote is that he will come sometime in January (even though that exemption and tax credit would be nice! :-) All is well around here. Tyler and I are missing our little boy terribly, but he's still not missing us, so we are happy for him and sad for us! He came to visit, and we took the above pictures. Yes, those are pill bottles he's playing with. He likes to shake them! Tyler is doing better and better every day. He is up more and doing more, but will obviusly reach a point where he is just limited because of his cast. Also, the itching has settled in (familiar to any of you have ever had a cast!) and he has a little song he sings when it gets bad. Something like "itchy, itchy, la-la-la-la." We both have appointments this week, so I'll send out updates after each. We are hoping to have Wayne back at least part time by midweek or so. Hmm.. what else... my Christmas shopping is done, with only some wrapping left to do. I am sooo excited to be able to go to Christmas parties this next weekend!!! I am excited to go to church next Sunday! I am excited to get out of these four walls!!!

Bed Rest Update

I wanted to give you all an update on what the doctor said yesterday. My appointment went fine, and he is pleased that I have made it 3 weeks after the preterm labor initially started. I've had several episodes of contractions starting in the last week or so, but none have lasted more than 3-4 hours or so. While it's not great, it is good that the drug I'm on did it's job and stopped them. I am on full bed rest for 1 more week, and then they will reexamine the health of our baby and if everything looks good, they will wean me off of the medication and allow me to slowly do more. I will be 35 weeks at this point, which is far along enough to deliver in Bellingham. However, the doctor would prefer that I not go into labor until 38 weeks, so although I will be allowed to do more, I still should really take it slow and easy. The baby is very healthy, still very active, and is measuring right on average in his size.

I am doing pretty well on bed rest this time around. The doctor encouraged me to work a little from the couch with my laptop, to keep my mind busy and to help me stay off my feet as much as possible. It's been a lot more strict around here since Tyler joined me on the big couch... I have to ask permission to use the bathroom! Seriously though, he is an AMAZING husband and I can't imagine going through any of this without him. It is such a blessing to go through life knowing that I am with the one God has chosen for me. We are so blessed, and I have never questioned "why us?" throughout this all, and was honestly surprised the first time someone asked me. I was puzzled. Why not us? God's strength is shown through our weakness, and right now his strength is mighty!

A Day in the Life of Wayne

And now for some entertainment for all of you... Wayne stories! There have been a few over the past few days, so allow me to indulge myself...

Wayne on the Computer Chair:
Tyler and I went to visit Wayne yesterday at my mom's. We were sitting and visiting, and Mom was sitting in the computer chair. Wayne ran up to her to grab her hand. She thought that he wanted a snack, so she let him pull her into the kitchen. He quickly dropped her hand, ran around her, and climbed up into the chair. He LOVES the chair, and likes to sit and play on the computer keyboard. Of course, Grandpa and Grandma let him!

Wayne and His Animals:
Wayne has these little Fisher Price farm animals that he LOVES to play with. He had 3 of them in the master bathroom at Mom's one morning while she was getting ready. She finished up, and they left the bathroom, leaving the three animals behind. Two days later he was playing in the living room, with his animals again, and he jumped up, ran to Mom, and grabbed her hand. He dragged her across the house, through her room and to the master bathroom. He grabbed the three animals, then happily ran ahead of her back to the living room to play. The kid has a memory!

Shush Grandma:
Wayne was watching his morning cartoons, and Mom was apparently being too loud in the kitchen. He turned around, got her attention, put one finger to his lips, and said "Shush!" Tyler and I don't do that ever, so we have nooo idea where he picked it up. He's pretty proud, and if he catches you talking and wants something, he'll shush you too!!!

My Daddy has a cast!

This afternoon, Wayne discovered that Tyler has a cast. He found it and just looked at it in awe, then softly ran his hands along it, feeling the texture. Without warning, he started hitting the cast with both hands! Thankfully he is not that strong yet, and it didn't hurt Tyler (too much!) We all got a good laugh out of him though, he's ever so entertaining! We are doing well, just laying very low. He can use his two legs, and I loan him my two hands! For example, he goes to get our pills, and I open the bottles for us. We make a wonderful team! The above picture was taken Sunday night... I told Wayne to smile for the camera, and he dutifully obeyed!

Humpty Dumpty...

Well, as many of you know, my dear husband, Humpty Dumpty, had a great fall! On Saturday morning, Tyler and Todd were planning on working on the garage. Tyler decided to get a start on things before Todd got here, and within about 5 minutes, he got knocked off the ladder by one of the trusses. Tyson came and took him to the ER (quite the adventure... I think they bonded quite a bit!) and to make a long story short he had surgery later that afternoon on his elbow. Amazingly, he only broke his elbow, everything else was fine! (In the picture above, you can see the broken piece of bone, one of them, off to the left... That's what I saw poking through his skin after the accident!) The surgery lasted for an hour, and although he was a little loopy, he was in pretty good spirits afterwards. I of course was home on bedrest the entire time, which was not easy, but far better than the wrath I would have faced from Tyler if I went in!!!! (He sent me the 2nd picture above to say goodnight to me!) He is now in a cast for 6-8 weeks, and could possibly go back to work, light duty, after 10 days to 2 weeks. He is now home from the hospital, so it's the two of us parked on the couch for awhile!!! Thank you to everyone for all of your prayers, we truly appreciate them, and know that God is good and has wonderful plans for us. How many married folks get to sit on the couch together for days on end? :-) We'll keep you posted!

3T, size 8 shoes

This will be a short post. I just have to say that I cannot believe that "little" Wayne is growing so fast! I moved him to 2T clothes and size 7 shoes in September. He now looks like baby Hughie in his shirts, and his shoes are a fight to put on! I did some online shopping at Old Navy and Crazy 8's, and Wayne wore his new 3T clothes to go shopping in Bellingham with Tyler today. I thought that maybe I would have to roll the sleeves, but no! It fit him fine. Disgusting. How can our little babies' grow so fast?

A *Fake* Christmas Tree

We have a first at the Silves house this year... a fake tree! Tyler is insistent every year that we get a real tree, and it is usually fine with me (despite the fact that I have to take allergy medicine!) This year is a little different though. Rather than go get a tree with just him and Wayne, he said we could put up the fake one. My darling sister-in-law Trisha offered to come over and put it together and decorate it for us. I spent the evening on the couch watching, while Wayne and Tyler helped her. Wayne was pretty excited to help, and even signed "more" to her and pointed into the box because he thought she had forgotten that there were a few branches left! Our tree is beautiful, and I am enjoying the new view!

He's Still a Boy!

We had another doctor's appointment today. This appointment included a biophysical profile of our baby. The doctors wanted to just see how he was developing and coming along, as well as to make sure that he was still getting all that he needed despite the preterm labor that we dealt with over Thanksgiving. The ultrasound tech was amazed at how little time it took her to check everything that she needed to. It took her less time because our little baby was quite cooperative! He scored an 8 of 8 on the test, and the big thing was that he his practicing breathing which is really important and good to see, just in case he does come early. She also made sure he was a boy, and he still is! :-) We met with the doctor afterwars, and she was pleased at all the stats and agreed with the game plan to keep me on bed rest for another 2 weeks, and then take me off of the medication and see what happens. So... two more weeks! Above is the only picture that we got... We couldn't ever see his face, but we got a pretty good picture of his foot. The foot is off to the upper left, and the white semi-circle you see to the right is actually his skull. Wayne was always trying to suck his thumb during ultrasounds, and this little baby was going for his toes! Aahh... hopefully another boy who loves his binky!

Wayne's World

The world of Wayne... another episode! I realized that I haven't shared these photos yet. The first is Wayne with Tyler's shoes. Wayne is fascinated by shoes, and loves to where them. Especially athletic shoes. What you don't see here is that 2 seconds after the picture was taken, he tried to walk and biffed it big time! The next photo is of Wayne eating Tyler's birthday ice cream cake. Todd picked it up, and bought one with green and white frosting. Wayne loved it, but it was disgusting to watch him eat it!!! I think I made the comment that I was glad to be on bed rest because I didn't have to clean him up. His face and hands were stained green. Lovely.

Winter Wonderland.... and the Hallmark Channel

Have you ever wished that you had the time to just sit and watch the snow fall? I have. Today, I am making the most of resting by watching a lot of snow fall. It started around 8am, and hasn't stopped since! Below is a picture from my front door. Wayne spent the night at my parents' last night, because we didn't know what the weather would be like. They weren't able to go to church this morning because of the roads (they live on on the base of a mountain, for those who may not know) and so this morning they were putting lights on the Christmas tree. Apparently Wayne thought his job was to run off with the strand as soon as my Mom plugged it in to make sure it was working. I'm sure he was having too much fun!

I was getting quite bored with HGTV and TLC yesterday, and my Mom suggested that I watch movies from the Hallmark channel. The problem was, we don't get the Hallmark channel!!! Well, that was only a momentary problem, because I called Dishnetwork, and within 5 minutes I was watching Crazy for Christmas, and after that the Christmas Switch. Aaww.. Gotta love the Hallmark movies! I have numerous ones recording throughout the day now, so there will always be something to watch! It's a great way to kill 1 1/2 hours of time!

It finally happened.... I am now entering the blogging world! I thought it would be fun to document the Silves family events, and for the next few weeks especially, how I am doing on bed rest and when Silves Baby Boy #2 makes his appearance into this world. So, here we go!

The current update is... It is Saturday morning around 11:30. It has been snowing for a few hours, but has now let up. It's sad when watching the snow is more interesting than watching TV! I spent the morning in our front room (aka the Coffee Room!) with the fireplace on, doing my Bible Study and watching the snow come down. Wayne is at my sister-in-law Tanya's today, and will come back tonight. He usually sleeps here, and on days when Tyler is working, as soon as I hear him in the morning I call my mom and she comes down to get him out of his crib and take him for the day. I am supposed to just rest, and I can shower and go to the bathroom. (Yeah, like going to the bathroom should be the highlight of my day!) It sounds like the doctor is going to keep me off my feet until December 20, when I am 35 weeks pregnant. At that point they will make sure that the baby is healthy and ready, and if everything looks good I can get up and move around again. If I go into labor, I can deliver in Bellingham no problem. Anything before 35 weeks should be delivered in Seattle as long as the mom is stable enough to get there. So, that is what we are trying to avoid! It is crazy to think that we may have a Christmas baby, or a New Year's baby (preferably December 31 instead of January 1, I am a CPA afterall, and would like the deduction! :-) Or, he could just decide to wait until our C-section which is scheduled for January 14! Time will tell.
