Football fun with friends

Wyatt and Weston have made some new friends at football.  Zach and Alana are about the same age, and are just the sweetest.  They have together become quite the foursome!  No matter how hard Adele and I try to come prepared, inevitably they end up playing with just one thing, and the other 3 bags of stuff we've drug along go untouched.  Go figure!  So far their items of preoccupation have been a rose bush with rose hips, sticks, rocks, a portable DVD player, tractors, food, dirt and tractors and cooking cow corn on the grill!  Creative little kids, don't you think?  No matter what, they come away FILTHY and in desperate need of a bath.

Our good friend Kristy was up and at em bright and early for our 9am game on Saturday.  Thanks for all of your help!!!
Wayne had fun playing -he likes 'huddle time" and is still figuring out the purpose of football (to score more points than the other team) how to score points (run to the other end of the field) and how to pay attention for a 90 minute game!
Seriously???  Look at the size of the kid on the right!!!  I think I need to see a birth certificate.

It was so foggy this week, my camera was freaking out and having a hard time focusing.  Fall is definitely here!

On Sunday, September 23, 2012 Addison Kay...

slept through the night!  She's been flirting with it for weeks now, sleeping until 5, 5:30, 5:45....  and this morning she didn't wake up until after 6am!  She made it from 9pm last night until 6am this morning.  I don't know if this great sleeping habits thing is a girl thing, or an Addison thing (it certainly wasn't her brothers' thing!) but I will take it!

Our Baby Boy & Our Baby Girl

At just 2 months, these two have already formed a special bond that I pray will continue throughout their lives.  They are both our "babies" - our baby boy, and our baby girl.  Being 3 years apart they are going to be the last two in the house someday.  Wyatt will be the closest one to Addison in school.  She will be in kindergarten and he will be in 3rd grade.  And it will be here in the blink of an eye!  For now, it's just fun to watch them together.  If she burps or poops, her buddy is sure to tell her, "Eewww!  You gross Addison!"

Visiting Aunt Thelma

Aunt Thelma came to visit from Iowa this past week, and we got to visit with her up on Cedar Hill on Sunday afternoon.  Aunt Thelma is my Dad's sister.  I can't help but wonder if my sibling and I will travel miles and miles to visit each other someday, or if we'll live just down the road from each other.  Todd, if you're reading this.... come home!  :-)

It was a beautiful afternoon, with great lighting for picture taking...  enjoy!

 Just chillin'.

She loves her Grandma!

Look at this progression... from sleepy and grumpy to happy as can be.  I guess all she needed was Grandma.

First Football Game

Wayne's first football game was this past Saturday.  I have no idea what the score was, but I know that he had fun, and I had my hands full.  Tyler was doing "lines" (no idea what that meant, other than he had to hold a stick for the whole game) and I was chasing after Wyatt, Weston, and rocking Addison quite a bit.  The iPad only entertained the kids for so long, and then it was just a game of cat and mouse until the final whistle blew.  It was a beautiful day though, and there was a fun park to play at.  Honestly, I was completely a hot and sweaty mess when it was all said and done, and I think the words, "I will never take them to another football game again" were uttered from my mouth.  More than that awfulness, what I truly remember is Tyler's response.  He sat down with both Wyatt and Weston that afternoon, and a had a heart to heart about how their actions that morning had hurt my feelings, etc. etc.  Later on, each boy came up to me and told me on their own how sorry they were for _______ and ___________ and __________ and how they wanted to still go to football and that they would be a good boy.  WOW.  Whatever Dad said to them sure got through to their hearts!

Weston's first day of Preschool - 2012

Weston was so excited for his first day of school.  I brought him, but before we left we took a few pictures to commemorate the day!  This being his THIRD first day, he knew the drill and it only took a few shots to capture his cuteness.  This is his new sweatshirt that he got for school, and he LOVES it.  He wears it "all the time, all day long" as Tootie would say.  He is so excited to be in Teacher Michelle's class, and likes being with more kids.  He has come home very chatty about all that they do, and with the warm weather is usually pretty red-cheeked too!  I am so thankful for the wonderful staff that we work with - they are truly loving and dedicated.  They were SHOCKED by two things.... how much he had grown, and how is speech had improved over summer.  Weston - you are a rockstar!

A bath can sure tucker you out!

When the big boys were off at school, Wyatt and I cleaned the house from top to bottom, including mopping the floors TWICE, and then gave Addison her bath.  He is such a proud brother - "Addison Kay is cute!" is his most common saying.  I have to say... I agree with him!  She is so easy going, and absolutely loves her baths.  She likes her water on the warm side, and her brother on the silly side!

But after all that fun... she was one tired baby girl.
