- After dating Tyler for 2 months, I distinctly remember walking down the hall of the Nooksack High School (you know, the one just east of the gym) following Tyler through a very large crowd, thinking, I know I'm going to marry him. It wasn't a question, it was a fact. I knew it.
- I am 28 years old.. I've been with Tyler since I was 15. That's a long time, but it doesn't seem like it's been long enough.
- At first I liked him, then I loved him. Then I married him and realized how much more I loved him. Then we had Wayne and I couldn't believe that I could love him even more, and yet watching him with Wayne I knew I did. Then Weston came along, and now #3 is almost here... I can truly and honestly say that I love him more each day.
And I even like him on most days too! :-) - I feel guilty and blessed to know how easy 8 years of marriage have been.
- I am grateful to my parents for teaching me what a God-centered marriage was, how to deal with "conflicts" and how to say, "I'm sorry."
- I am grateful to Tyler's parents for raising a son as wonderful as him. He is an incredible husband and dad, beyond belief really. His patience and love, and fun loving nature keep things very interesting around here!
- After 8 years of living together, we still use two different brands of toothpaste. Some things are just not worth arguing over!
- After 8 years of marriage, he is still more particular about things than I am.
- I love how we've changed together... Developed hobbies and interests, and that we are each interested in the other. Tyler always looks at my scrapbook pages, and I help him smoke fish and dry fruit and do whatever other "homemade" project he comes up with.
- Even if we're married for 100 years... that's still not long enough!

Still great after eight!
Happy Anniversary to us! 8 years ago we were united in wedded bliss, and the rest as they say is history. Wow, where did the time go? We dated for 5 years before we were married, so we've been together now for 13 years. Here are some random thoughts I've had while reflecting on that...

* * * July 4, 2009 * * *

What a day! It started around 5am with Tyler leaving early to go crabbing. The boys were up and at 'em by 6am with me, and we spent a nice, long morning together. ;-) By 8:15am I had caught my very own "crab" and put him down for a nap! Wayne and I spent the next two hours snuggling, reading books, playing trains, and scrapbooking. D-lightful! Weston "waked up" and I decided that since it was a holiday, and since I'd been resting for the last few hours, we could head out to the Nooksack park to play. It was cooler there because it is so nice and shaded! We left here at 10:05. Both boys were so excited when they saw all the fun slides and things to climb on. We were the only ones there, and things were going really well... So well, I thought to myself "I can totally take them to the park by myself being 8 1/2 months pregnant! Piece of cake!" Famous last words... Two minutes later Wayne was in a panic saying, "I go stinky, I go stink!" I dove to grab Weston, and grab my camera, etc. from the bench and race to the bathroom with Wayne. Have you been in that bathroom? It looks like a prison cell. Wayne took one look and said, "That is bachy! I no go stinky!" Well bud, actually you did go stinky, just not in the pot! Argh. Now I've got Wayne with stinky in his undies, Weston, and everything else, and the Jeep is parked 15 feet from the bathroom... Did I mention Wayne's pants and undies were pulled down? Okay, think smart woman.... I told Wayne to stand very still (remember, he's outside of the bathroom on the sidewalk) or he'd get very messy, and I deposited Weston in the car with everything else, and then grabbed the wipes and raced back to Wayne. Great. I only have 2 wipes left. Seriously! The Queen of Preparedness was NOT in fine form! Anyhoo... I picked Wayne up and carried him to the back of the Jeep where we stripped and cleaned his lower half. Thankfully, fear of the "cell" had only allowed just a small stinky to escape, so it wasn't so bad. I buckled Wayne into his carseat, in his birthday suit from the waist down, all while both boys are screaming at the top of their lungs because they DO NOT want to leave the park. *sigh.* We sped off towards home and a much needed "official" clean up for everyone!
Okay... we got home, had lunch, and the boys were in bed at 12pm. Tyler wasn't going to be back from crabbing until 2pm, so I bustled around cleaning up, ate lunch myself, and then Weston was up and Tyler was home. We cleaned and cooked the crab, picked up some more, and got ready for a picnic. Seriously? A picnic now? I was tired already!
Thankfully, I had volunteered to bring chips and dip to the picnic, which was a HUGE blessing. Normally I love to cook and bring lots of great food, but.... I'm taking the "I'm pregnant" easy out this time around!!! We stopped at the grocery store, where Tyler and Weston did the shopping, while Wayne and I went to buy Pop-It's from the little old men (Everson Lion's Club, I believe.) He was sooo excited, and had to have me take his picture with his fireworks next to Dad's red car. Wayne is IN LOVE with Dad's red car. Good luck ever getting him to let you drive it buddy!
We spent the night outside, on the "upper level" of the lawn, eating smores, crab, and watching Tyson's warm up fireworks, and then the neighbors massive show. Wayne was soooo good... I love age 3!!! It was relaxing and just nice to hangout for a change. Mom, Dad, Tara, Ryan, and Tyson and Breanne were all there, and it was just great. These are memories that I have of my childhood, and I so want our kids to have them too.
Yes, we let three year old's have sparklers that are as big as they are!

July 4, 2008
I spent a little time scrapping this morning... I am redoing March-November 2008 for Wayne (I had previously done that portion of time in Shutterfly, but am now doing it in full digital scrap mode. No, I'm not nuts. Or anal.) Anyway... How odd that I'm doing the 4th on the 4th?!!!? These pages were so cute, I had to share! I am learning lots of new techniques and tips and tricks in this scrapping thing (one of which is to delete Paypal emails from Tyler's hotmail account! :-) I couldn't pass up the photo masks in this first picture, and I got them 40% off! (which made the 4 of them $1.50.)

And just for kicks and giggles... one of my earlier digital scrapping pages was for Weston's 2008 book, for his 4th of July. I did this page... probably 6 weeks ago? My, how I've improved, if I do say so myself! :0) I love a challenge, and learning something new!
Weston's up from his nap, and Tyler just walked in the door from crabbing down south with my Dad, so I should probably scoot. It's only 2pm, but it feels like it should be 10pm! The boys have been getting up e.a.r.l.y these days. We have a BBQ at 4pm, so look for more pics later!

Some lost pictures...
And here's Weston, in a classic! That boy is a one man tornado. I had the office/toy room all cleaned up, and let him play in there while I unloaded the dishwasher which takes me 3 minutes. Yikes. I think I need to limit the square footage he can damage!

We're on Timed Bake!
For those who were psyched out by the last post, I apologize. The official baby arrival countdown is on though! Take a look to the right for the remaining days and hours and minutes (who's counting you ask... me!) until this baby arrives. We were originally going to keep the date a surprise, but I decided to heck with that! As of now, the baby will be delivered on Wednesday July 22, and my c-section is scheduled for 7:30am. Chances are the baby will be delivered around 8:30 or so. Woo-hoo! Things are starting to occur to me at a rapid pace... Like the fact that I only have to give myself 19 more shots, and that the diapers I just pulled out for the baby are really small compared to Weston's. There are many more "epiphanies" that I've had, but I'll spare you all! The to-do and packing lists are being made, and I'm just hoping that the next 20 days goes slow, but fast too. Is that asking for too much? I think not! :-) So unless, this baby comes early, the timer is officially set for this bun to be out of the oven!
One week left
to work. Why does it seem like such a long time? Oh well. I can definitely tell that we are nearing the end here... Everyone I see seems to say something along the lines of, "I didn't think you looked pregnant, but now I can really tell!" or "Wow, you sure are getting B-I-G." Lovely folks, just what I wanted to hear. At last measurement, I was 48 inches around, so I'm thinking I should hit a nice even 50 inches before this baby decides to take the off ramp outta here. It is head down, and by down I mean d.o.w.n in the very literal sense of the word. Estimated size is 6lbs. 13oz or so at this point, which would put it around 8 1/2 pounds at birth, pretty similar to the boys. The heart rate continues to be in the 130's and 140's, and it is still very active. Wayne was so cute the other night... He was sitting next to me on the couch finishing a snack, very slowly. I asked him if his tummy was full, and while patting his stomach he told me, "No, my baby is kicking me." Where do you think he got that from??? Then, last night, he asked if the baby was in my belly, and when I said yes, he said, "I go see him!" I peeled back the layers of my shirt, tank top, and maternity panel of my pants, and once he'd found bare skin, he peered one-eyed at my belly button, then exclaimed, "I no see it! Baby's tired, go ni-night!" He covered everything back up, grabbed his blankie, and snuggled the baby. So cute! Hopefully he feels the same way once the baby comes! :-)
Moving on.... can you believe that it's JULY!?!? Unbelievable. June went so fast, and I know July and August are going to be even worse! Our next week or so are pretty full... Last coffee dates with friends before the baby comes, doctor's appointments, photoshoots, final preparations (I'm not as anal this time, but there are a few things that should be done!) parties, showers, and last minute projects to finish for other people.... The list is long, but I have no doubt we can get through it. And I'm going to need to schedule plenty of resting/napping in (at least 20 minutes each day... hey, be happy I'm shooting for that!) because I am getting tired! It's currently 79 degrees, and I am just waiting for the thermometer to tick over to the 80 mark. Bring on SUMMER!
