Great to be 8!

8 years ago this sweet and precious boy entered this world.  What a blessing!  We can't belive how quickly he is growing up.  He is kind, thoughtful, independent, hard working, funny, silly, smart and OH so many more things.  I am so grateful for him!!!  We had a great time celebrating his birthday over the weekend, and on Tuesday as well.  A highlight had to be when I brought SIX pizzas to his class with 4 crazy breads and his class ate it ALL!  Wow.  Hungry 2nd graders.  And they had just had lunch!  Another highlight?  Picking out his fish and fish tank and getting it set up.  Tiger, Kai, Max (who was soon followed by Max II) and Blackie.  They are pretty cool fish.  He can even take care of them and clean the tank himself.  Grandma brought him an ENTIRE Mocha Cake on his birthday for breakfast.  Seriously?  He is LOVED!  We topped the day off with a cruise around the driveway on his new motorized scooter.

SNOW Day!

What do you do when church is cancelled due to "inclement weather?"  Drive to Cedar Hill for a SNOW DAY!  All the kids and cousins slipped our way up the hill to park and stay at Mom and Dad's for the morning.  We were all outside having a blast and enjoying the big, wet flakes PILING up around us.  It's incredible how much snow they can get just being on the base of the hill.  The big excitement this year was the addition of the FOUR WHEELER.  Seriously fun times were had by all!!!

PS.  Please excuse the lack of Scheenstra boy pictures - they move so fast they are hard to photograph!

Rock the Hawk!

The Silves boys were all super duper thrilled to wear their navy and green attire all football season.  There was no "Blue Friday" here, every day was blue for us!  Dad bought them all Seahawks socks of their favorite player too.  We are already ready for next season!

SUPERBOWL 48! Hawks WIN!

Superbowl 48 was an UNBELIEVABLE game, once (okay, hopefully not) in a life time, never forget, moment in history.  The Seahawks not only won the Superbowl, they owned it!  :-)  We had such a fun season, watching each game from home in front of the TV all afternoon with blankets, pillows, and lots of special treats and snacks.  The boys each had a favorite player - Wayne was all about Richard Sherman, Weston loved Marshawn Lynch (aka BEASTMODE!) and Wyatt was a little Russell Wilson fan with a lot of enthusiasm.  Let's build a dynasty.  Go Hawks!

Basketball and more basketball!

I never get tired of watching them and taking pictures of all that they can do!  Both Weston and Wayne have grown and learned so much this basketball season.  Wayne has learned to persevere and work hard, to handle disappointment and rejoice in success.  I am so thankful Tyler has been able to coach him.  What a blessing!  He enjoys it so much and wants our kids to have what he had growing up - thanks to others who coached him and took time out of their lives to invest in his.  2nd grade might be the year we can look back on as the one where he learned to do a lay up!
