{the rest} of the weekend

It's your lucky day folks... I don't feel like writing much, so this post is going to let the pictures tell the story!

Saturday was our pool party.  Woo-hooo!!! 

Wyatt loves the kiddie pool/sprinkler.  Treven... not so much.

By Sunday night, the boys were home... with 40 fish!!!!  They were pretty proud.   It took us quite awhile to clean, fillet, and vacuum pack them all, and clean up the boat and the trucks.  Whew!!! 

Seriously, each of these fish weighs more than Wyatt!!! 

 

Oh yes, and here are some things to remind the boys of the fun they had:

1. What once was lost was found again.  And lost again.
2. You can survive without Starbucks.  But it's a good thing you brought along your frozen espresso shots.
3. Uninvited guests can be mildly entertaining.  But good luck UNINVITING them!
4. If loose lips sink ships, what do slippery fingers do?
5. A road is rough if you get a flat tire on it.  A road is REALLY rough if you get a flat and lose your fender!
6. Dad knows best!  :-)
   

The "airpane" Practice (we're not brave enough for the show)

Well, we're four days into the big fishing trip, and I haven't once regretted Tyler going, so that's got to be a record!!!  The boys are just at such a great stage, all of them, and we've actually had quite a bit of fun together.  And Taylor was here for 24 hours, so that helped too!!!  The boys are having a blast... they caught 35 fish or so, so far.  Every time they've called because they have reception, from the sounds of the banter and background noise, they are having a great time together.  I wonder how many of their stories I'll get to hear?  

Wyatt is really pulling up on things.  A lot.  I clean my patio windows twice a day, and it's still not enough!  I think I may take a sabbatical for the next 24 hours.

Thursday was our day to head to my sister's to watch the planes practicing for the air show tomorrow.  She lives directly south of the Abbotsford (I think it's Abbostford) airport, and they see a lot of plane action!  We went out to the middle of her field with a blanket, and sat down for a good hour, watching the sky, and laughing at the kids.  Madelyn was pretty excited that I brought licorice, and ate as much as she could, as fast as she could, before her mama cut her off.  And seriously, how does she sit like this?

Weston was SUPER excited.  He'd jump and point every time we'd hear the engines.

When Grandma arrived, there was some TOTALLY excited kids.  They were all screaming "Grandma!" as they sprinted toward her through the field.  What a greeting!  I wish they did that for me!

Madelyn wanted the last few drops of my coffee.  

After an hour or so, we walked over to the neighbor's goats and donkey's.  The kids fed them grass, and it was definitely a highlight of the afternoon.  I think Weston would have climbed on for a little ride if he could have!

Where's your head go?

By 5:30 we made our way back up to the house, and we got a little dinner together.  Everyone brought what they had, but Mom had CABBAGE ROLLS which were BEYOND delicious.  We had fun eating the "girl" food we can't always have with the guys around!  Cabbage salad, cabbage rolls, watermelon, chips, and the kids had nuggets and french fries.  Dessert was ice cream cones, a Bajema tradition that we all love!

Just before dinner though, Aunt Tanya and Ethan came to pick up Wayne.  With his sister's gone, Ethan was begging for his buddy Wayne to have a sleepover with him.  Wayne was so excited, and had his bag packed that morning by 8am.  He said that all he need was swim trunks and pajamas.  What a light packer!  When I put him in the van to leave, he gave me a big hug, and told me, "Mom, I am going to miss you.  I love you so much."  I about started bawling, but gave him a big hug and told him that I loved him too.  He hugged me back, then said, "Okay mom, that's enough.  I have to go now."  

When did my baby get so big?

We miss our Daddies!!!!

Dad, I miss you tickling me and putting me to bed at night... I don't fall to sleep for Mom like I do for you!

Dad, I miss the way you play with me, and take me for walks outside.  I've gotten 10 times cuter since you've been gone!

Dad, I miss you so much, and I tell everyone that my Dad has been gone for a l-o-n-g time, and he better bring me fish, because I like them in my tummy!  I've grown 4 inches since you left on Wednesday morning.

Dad, Mom doesn't wrestle like you do, and I am wearing her out, trying to tackle her all the time.  Come home, and I'll beat you up!  My hair is four shades blonder since you left, and Mom's is starting to get gray. 

Ha!  I heard from the fisherman today, who told me they were concerned that I hadn't been blogging and they were disappointed.  I hope you are sufficiently homesick for your babies now!  :-)

P.S.  Tyson, Treven misses you too, we just haven't seen him since he is on quarantine!

While the Dad's away, the rest will play

The boys are off fishing, I've worked my one day for this week, and now it's time to kick back, relax, and PAR-TAAAY!  :-)  The boys and I have lots of flexible things planned for the next four days.  It's been 26 hours, and so far, so good!  It was a little rough getting the boys to bed last night, but I can handle that.  Wayne and Wyatt go down fine, but Weston has hit a stretch where he has a hard time winding down, and throws a FIT in his room.  Wayne has been falling asleep with a pillow on his head to block out the noise!  Poor boy. 

Wyatt is pulling himself up on EVERYTHING and I am continually shocked when I turn around and see him standing.  He's even starting to let go and trying to take a step or two, but he usually wipes-out pretty hard, his legs just aren't quite ready for that!  Soon, though, soon.  And then.... watch out!!!!!!!!!!!

Weston is also Wyatt's biggest fan.  He protects him, and loves on him so much that I have to yell at him too often to "GET OFF HIM!"  Poor Wy-Wy.  We're looking forward to some nice, hot weather coming up, and breaking out the pool and AC for at least one more week of summer!!!!  I am starting to work on tax planning at the office, and can't believe it's that time.  Scary!

First Field Trip for the boys

The boys attend Mrs. Myhre's children's church class for the 2's and 3's, and she planned a field trip for the class for Monday.  They've been learning about God's creation, and all of the things that HE created, so a morning spent outdoors was the perfect way to see all that they had been learning!  The boys were SO excited.  Wayne couldn't stop talking about it, and Weston just jumped up and down whenever we talked about it.  Ethan was with us too, his Mom and Dad were taking his sister's to camp, and we didn't want him to miss out!  Poor kid... he spent the night with us on Sunday night, and was a "Silves brother from another mother" all day on Monday, and then he had to go home to a quiet house as an only child.  Poor kid!!!!  :-)  Good thing the boys come to play on Wednesday!

We started out by all sitting around on blankets, talking about all the lessons "God created night and day, God created the birds and fish, God created the plants and trees."  Then we all went for a walk around a big pond.  Weston was SO GOOD.   He has come so far in the past few months, summer 2010 has been a FABULOUS thing for him!  :-)  He never once ran off, and he listened and obeyed, and held my hand.  He was so proud to "lead" us to follow the class, and he was right in the thick of it with the rest of the kids.  He was happy, happy kid.  Wayne and Ethan were so buds.  It's funny to see how they first start out together, and as they gain confidence they were each off doing their own thing.  As they get older, it's fun for me to see the differences between.  While one is four and one is five, they are 8 months apart.  On some things, they are alike in that they are close in age, and in others, they are different because God made them different.  How cool is that? 

I was CONVINCED one if not THREE boys were going to end up soaked...  but they managed to prove me wrong!

Here's their class + a few siblings

Lunch on the grass.  Wayne was SUPER excited for the special red Gatorade that Dad sent along.  

They played a really fun "day and night, water and sky" game.  Two teachers held paper, one for day and the other for night.  They stood 50 ft apart, and Mrs. Myhre would ask, "When do you put on your pajamas?" and the kids would run towards "night."  They were quite the herd, running back and forth!

Thanks Teacher!  The boys loved their day, and they adore you!

Playing in the Rain

You thought I was kidding about sending the boys out in the rain to play?  Hah!  I do not kid!

They were SO excited when I told them to go outside, they played for almost an hour, and it was POURING outside.  They were soaking wet when they were all done, but they were quite a bit less antsy back in the house, so my mission was accomplished.

They spent most of their time searching for snails, worms and slugs.  They are pretty good at finding them too!  Weston is the lookout, and Wayne is the "toucher."  When Wayne touches a slug or a worm, Weston points and squeels like a girl!  It's the funniest thing, and it sends Wayne into fits of giggles.

LOUDness

After less than 24 hours of rain, I have two Silves boys who are going STIR CRAZY and who are about to be e-bayed!  :-)  Who knew how much energy they were expending outdoors the last month?  I forgot what it's like to be cooped up, and I think I might send them out to play in the rain.  It's 66 degrees, and I'll let them have a warm bath when they are done.  They remind me SO MUCH of my brothers, rolling and fighting on the ground, shrieking with laughter and giggling, and giving me a headache they are so loud!!!!  Poor Wyatt doesn't know what to make of it all, and occasionally gets caught in the fray.
