Newsflash... the drought is over!

"Posing" for the camera
Milk and chocolate chip cookies...

All gone!
Who can resist an almost naked baby?
As of today, 1 year and 1 month to the day, Wayne is drinking milk again! Sure, it took freshly baked chocolate chip cookies to get him to do it, and his own cup (not a sippy cup) but it worked! Woo-hoo!

Valentine's week around here...

Hey All! Hope you are each doing well, and have enjoyed the brief moments of sunshine around here! Tyler is off this weekend, which is such a luxury now! He went fishing yesterday, and brought home a salmon (which I vacuum sealed and sent to the freezer for awhile!) We all went into Sears this morning and had Weston's 1 month pictures done, and Wayne's 2 year pictures, a brother picture, and a new family photo (you can only imagine my glee in checking that off my list!) I can't believe how much Weston has grown... a month old already! Wayne is quite the boy, he is definitely strong willed/has a temper! We are working at, uh, "harnessing" that energy. He is so cute when he's cute, and sooo not when he's not! Just yesterday he was shaking his finger and screaming at me, and although I couldn't understand what he was saying, I am sure it was his version of a bad word! Oh well... I picked up him and carried him the other day, without thinking twice about it, and I am so grateful and glad to be able to do that again. 3 months of not picking up your baby (yes, he's still my baby, you all can just back off! :-) is enough!!! Happy Weekend!

money cannot buy happiness, but CLOTHES can!

Woo -hoo! Thanks to my personal shopper, I finally have clothes to wear that are not Old Navy t-shirts! My precious mother went with me to the Bon, and we did some hard core shopping with Weston. I was changing as fast as she could load up her arms! We found 10 really cute tops, and a pair of jeans too. I cannot tell you how happy this makes me, and so much more like normal! Weston was a little fussy, so I could never have done it all without her help. And kuddos to my husband for taking Wayne (their time included a trip to the wire store and Lowe's. They saw Grandma Silves and Aunt Pat there!)

Pet Peeve: When we arrived at the Bon, Weston was seriously fussy because he was hungry. My mom started shopping for me, and I asked the sales clerk for a dressing room (while holding a screaming baby and pushing a stroller... duh, the child had to eat!) She looked down her nose at me, and said, "do you even have anything to try on?" I pointed to my mom and said, "she has it for me!" She let me back into the dressing rooms, and the rest of our shopping experience was delightful with her. It just really stuck with me though... am I kind to other's because that's one way I can live for Christ, or am I kind to them because of what they can do for me? I hope that it is the first, but will be cautious of the second!!!

"B" is for BABY!

Yesterday Wayne was playing with his flash cards. He suddenly grabbed a card and went running to Weston, who was sleeping in his swing. When I walked over to see what Wayne was up to, Wayne ran away. I looked at Weston, and here is what I saw! Too cute, too cute.

I think we're alone now... there doesn't seem to be anyone around!

Tyler is back to work! His doctor appointment on Tuesday went really well. The x-ray showed his bones were healed, and the doctor was impressed with the range of motion he had back already. He was released to go back to work, and life as usual, with the warning that he needs to slowly strengthen it again, not all at once! Later this summer he will have an outpatient operation to take out the "hardware." He'll have the surgery on a a Thursday or Friday, and be back to work on Monday.

Things are good here on the home front. Wayne is having fun being at home and showing off his little brother. The first picture posted was taken right after church on Sunday, I am feeling so much more like myself these days, and not having "the blues" like I did after Wayne (thankfully!) I was so afraid that I would, but it doesn't appear so, so far! Beppe came to visit... Tuesday morning, to see Weston for the first time... Wednesday night we took my parents and the guys who did our garage work out to dinner to thank them, and my sister-in-law Tanya came over to watch both boys. She took the cute pictur of Ethan, Wayne and Weston together. Finally, we got a huge box in the mail and found the adorable diaper cake from my Aunt Thelma in Iowa, with a Sonics theme! Seriously, isn't it cute? Hope you all have a good weekend!

a *normal* day

I am thankful for a normal day. It was great! I did laundry, dishes, cleaned up a bit, gave Wayne a bath, gave Weston a bath, read to Wayne, and I actually have time to sit and type this! :-) Tyler is still gone to a basketball game, which is so nice for him. He needed to get out of the house! We are both ready for him to go back to work. It has been a blessing for him to be home, but I want my husband gone! :-) He has been a handyman around here today, hanging Wayne's closet rod and building shelves in the downstairs bathroom closet. Organization... yippee! Other news on the homefront... Weston has grown out of his 0-3 month clothes! That is just wrong. They are fine as far as his weight, but way to short for his long legs and body. Tomorrow's to-do's include going through his 3-6 month clothes and swapping out pajama's, etc. I am so happy he is growing and doing so well, but it is a little sad to know that in a blink of an eye he'll be taking baths with Wayne and learning way to many naughty things from his big brother! :-) Aww, just kidding. What could Wayne possibly teach him?

Saturday...

The weekend has been a good one... Friday we cleaned the house, and I gave Weston my first bath. He loved it! No crying at all. On Thursday we went down to the Carter's outlet and to the Gap outlet, and Wayne got new footie jammies. He is wearing a 4T in pajamas now!!! Aunt Barb came for coffee on Friday and brought dinner with her, which was wonderful! My cousin Katie also came, and brought her daughter Grace. Wayne loved her! He was so busy keeping her entertained, hopefully a sign of things to come!
