I found Wayne watching a show with his hat this way... Dad would be so proud!

Wayne is recovering well from his owie! He laid low for a day or so, and since then has been his usual spunky self. He is even more obsessed with wearing a hat though, so maybe he feels a little self concious (yeah right!) He is having great fun playing with all the goodies folks brought by to keep him occupied. He is BIG into farm these days (since when hasn't he been?) I recently got him a rug that is all farm themed, with roads, to play on with his cars, animals, and barns. Our carpet is a little long, so it is easier for him to play on the rug, and just plain fun! I was on the computer last night, and all I could hear was Tyler and Wayne having a blast playing with the animals and cars. It really encourages him to use words too, so that's a bonus!

I want to be Michael Phelps for a day

I was just watching the Olympics (cartoons are now banned from this house, it's Olympics around here! Wayne even knows how to chant "USA" and "GO-go-GO!") and an interview on Michael Phelps, who I have adored since the Athens games. Anyhow... they were discussing a "day in the life" of him, and mentioned that he has been told to eat 8,000-10,000 calories per day!!! He said he just eats and eats, and tries to get as much down as he can. They listed what he eats for breakfast, and it was disgusting. Amazing. I am in awe of all these Olympians, and what they have pushed their bodies to do. They have earned the freedom to eat that many calories I guess!

Boys will be boys.

I thought I'd show you all Wayne's "owie." He is one tough kid though! I am AMAZED how quickly kids heal, this picture was taken yesterday morning, and he looks TOTALLY different today. Boys will be boys!

DSL Alert!!!

This is to all of you who have Verizon DSL. We have had our service through them for YEARS, but lately I've noticed that we are not as fast as some others who have service through them. I called customer service, and it turns out that you can now get the 3.0mbs (or something like that!) which is about 2 times faster than what we were currently getting, for LESS MONEY! We currently pay $34, and the new service is $21 for 3 months, then $31 after that. There is a one year contract, but big deal since we've had internet through them for seven years. Woo-hoo! Better service for less money, call your Verizon rep today!

Owie

Tyler had his surgery today. They removed the wire and pins, aka "hardware" from his elbow. The surgery last approx. 30 minutes, and went like clockwork. Medicine is amazing to me! We got home here, and Wayne was still up (he decided today he was not napping...grrr!) He walked up to Tyler on the couch, pointed to his elbow and said "Owie!" Tyler told him, yeah, Dad has an owie. Wayne took off running, and we thought he went to play. But then, he came back, with his binky and blanky, and "tucked" Dad in on the couch, then popped the binky in his mouth. We laughed at how cute that was, and Wayne took off again. This time he came back with an armful of tools, which he proceeded to stick in Tyler's ears, nose, etc. It was as if his little mind was saying, "Daddy's broken, and I can fix him with my tools!" Such a darn cute kid. Both boys are in bed now, and Tyler is resting on the couch. Taking care of 3 boys is a lot of work, I've decided! :-) And, I really wouldn't have it any other way. I love to see all their sleeping faces at night, they are so peaceful looking. Night all!
