Since when does 27 degrees feel warm?
Oh yeah, since it's been -5 for 3 days! I ran to the grocery store tonight, and bundled up, only to think it was warm when I got out of the Jeep.
Things are going well around here. I just freaked myself out with the blog countdown... 8 days! I think I need to turn into some serious list making modes to get through the next few days. Once I have everything planned, I'll feel more in control. Wayne and Weston are doing well, they just need a little lotion on their cheeks these days, and an extra layer of clothing. My Christmas shopping is done, with the exception of one gift. Now I need to move into baking mode! I started off today with a pumpkin cheesecake. Mmmm.
Later gators!

Where are all the bloggers?
Dear Readers,
It's -6 degrees here in Everson today, including the windchill, so the Silves mom and her brood are staying home from church. Yes, our church is heated, but our parking lot is not. Hauling to kiddos in who are all bundled up and screaming because it's cold is not my idea of the Sabbath, and neither is running out 90 minutes later, this time to an ice cold Jeep. So today... we are Sabathing from the warmth of our home. We have had a lovely morning here at home, and Weston is down for a nice long nap. He took a 4 hour nap yesterday, and I was almost too scared to go and check on him... he NEVER sleeps more than 2 1/2 hours for a babysitter, and 90 minutes for me. Good thing I had a party to prep for, or I wouldn't have known what to do with myself! The party went well... Diane had planned the food before her accident, and WOW she outdid herself. It was great. Too bad she couldn't be there to partake! I came back with a little spinach dip, everything else was GONE. The boys loved their gifts from Grandma, and we've had a little battle going on with playing with each other's toys this morning. There are 50-60 people there, and I have to say, it does make it crowded and hard to visit, especially with two little ones. I am a pretty hmm... how would you say it... I do tend to hover. I think our boys, even Wayne, are too young to play by themselves in another room, so I usually go and watch the kiddos and keep them in line. I don't mind, I realize that it's just for a time and soon enough they will be old enough to go play on their own. Until then.... It's fun to just play with them.
Man, the wind is still howling today! My windchill and wind speed aren't working anymore... We're wondering if they are frozen. The current temp is 23.8 degrees F. That's cold! We moved the dogs into the garage, and they are much more comfortable. I let them out for a run, pee and poop every now and then, so so far so good in the stink department. I made a pot of vegetable beef soup, and will be home all day. I have two families coming for family pictures, one at 1, and the other at 2. Tanya is going to come and help with the kids, setup, and be my assistant, so now I am looking forward to it. Otherwise, I was just worrying about how to get it all done! It should be fun now.
I know I owe you pics, but I haven't taken them off my camera yet... I'll get them up later.
Which brings me to my point.... where are all the bloggers? It's bloody cold outside, and yet most of you aren't posting... I want updates people! Tell me what you've been doing, where you're going, what parties are planned... details people, I need details! :-)

E-Town Weather Report
This is your E-Town weather report, brought to you by the Silves family weather station. It is 8:15am and the outdoor temperature is currently 34.6 degrees. However, accounting for the windchill factor, it is a BRISK 11.2 degrees.... no, it just dropped again to 10.8 degrees. That's cold folks! Winds are currently 18.5 mph blowing North East with humidity at 51%. In the last 24 hours, we've received winds up to 25 mph, and got as cold as 10 degrees including windchill.
Can't wait for the snow, bring it on!
In other news... Tyler works this weekend, so it's me and the boys. Trisha is moving to their new house today, so the boys and I will bring out Bubble Bread in about 45 minutes. Then, I am back home to put Weston down for his nap, and then I will get some food ready for tonight.... Vegetable casserole, Sweet Potatoes, and then I thought I'd throw in a vegetable/spinach dip with crackers. Then, gather the gifts for tonight, get the boys' clothes ready and MAYBE take a little rest myself this afternoon. If it's snowing, I definitely want to read in front of the fireplace and take it all in! We get so little snow up here, I like to really enjoy it. What better excuse to stop the hustle and bustle? I'll cross my fingers...
Well, Weston is grunting (you all can figure out what that means) and the Bubble Bread needs to go into the oven, so I'm off! I'll try and post pictures of the Groen family festivities tomorrow!

*THIS* is why I wanted to be a Mom...
We loaded the boys in the car tonight, and drove to Bellingham to look at the Christmas lights! Our first stop was James Street. The ENTIRE mobile home neighborhood of retired folk decks the halls like you've never seen. We really wanted to continue the tradition this year, we started back over 10 years ago when we were dating. I always thought that someday, we would take our kids here if we ever got married. Well, we did get married, and we took our kids! We missed last year, but this year was WORTH the wait. Wayne crawled up and sat in my lap (I figured this was okay since we were already driving with our headlights off, and only going 2 mph.) He did not ever stop talking... Santa! Snowman! Train! Star! BIG star!!! It was CONSTANT and I LOVED every minute of it. His eyes were huge. Of course, tradition lived on in that we snacked on beef jerkey along the way. Well, Tyler and I snacked, Wayne ate HALF THE BAG. The child has no restraint when it comes to food. Oh well, it was a wonderfully delightful time, one where I just had the "this is the life" feeling, that I had all I ever wanted. All three boys, happy, looking at the lights. Perfect.

Just checking in...
Hi all! As many of you may have noticed, I typically have a blogging drought Monday through Wednesday, because I work those two days and I'm trying to get stuff done on the day in between! Today was no different. Mom offered to take Weston so that Wayne and I could go do some Christmas shopping, which was great because I got it ALL DONE! The Jeep was filled to the BRIM, and we had to stop at home to unload before picking up Weston, because we had no room for him! There are definitely some great deals out there this year, so it's been fun getting a great bang for my buck. Wayne was incredibly good, it was so much fun to spend the day with him, listen to him talk, look at toys with him, and of course, we had to stop for a milkshake and french fries! We also stopped in at the hospital to visit Tyler's mom. She had an accident on Sunday afternoon, while working around the house. She actually fell through the ceiling of the neighbor's garage (they share attic space above, and she was working up there) and broke her heel and her hip. I feel soooooooo sorry for her, what an awful time of year to have that happen, and after she had been feeling so much better lately too! Anyhow, she will be fine, but will definitely take some time to recover. I think she just loved seeing Wayne, who gave her a big hug, and kept smiling at her really sweetly, as if to say, "It's going to be okay Grammie." I was so proud of his empathy and compassion. That a two year old little boy can have that is truly amazing to me! Anyhow, we are home now tonight, so I better head to the kitchen to get dinner going. Later!
