what sane doctor gives a 38 week pregnant girl false hope?
The answer to that would be... my doctor! :-) Turkey that he is... I had a regular appointment today, which I knew wasn't going to be so "regular." Over the weekend my blood pressure had started coming up a bit, and I was just generally feeling... crappy for lack of a more polished word. Top that with an ongoing headache, and I could predict my doctor's response. I dutifully reported my pressures and blood sugars to the nurse, who took notes and was going to pass him the info before he came into the room. I told her, "he's going to say that my NST looks great, but that he doesn't like my pressures. He's going to do a PIH panel, and if that looks okay he's going to tell me to park it on the couch for the next week. If it doesn't look okay, he'll deliver." She laughed at me and said I should get a discount off of my bill, and especially laughed when Dr. Mora came in and said JUST THAT! So, after disparately hoping for bad lab results for a few hours (come on people, no one WANTS to stay pregnant when they are 38 weeks + pregnant and the baby is developed and ready to come out!) the nurse called with the "good" news that my labs looked fine and I was just supposed to lay low and rest all week, and of course come and see them every other day. Lovely. Oh well... I should get lots of digital scrapping done! Tyler's off most of the time too, so that works out well. So, while you're all checking things off of your to do lists... I'll be making lists while sitting on on the couch (or the desk chair... the computer might be the closest thing to a couch that I'll stay put at!) Stay tuned for more "good" news! :-)

the Everson parade
Chances are good that this is the one and only parade that we're going to this year, so despite the heat, we had to go! It doesn't get much easier than loading the kiddos in the stroller and walking from your own driveway either, so I had no excuse not to go. It was 84 degrees by 11am, and it was HOT. Thankfully, my mom took the morning to spend with us, and after meeting at our house, we took off for the parade. Thinking it was at 10:30am, we were there on time, but then realized it didn't start until 11am, and of course it starts on the east side of Everson, and we watch from the west! Oh well, I had brought snacks and juice for the boys, who were content to people watch until the action began. Did I mention that it was HOT?
Here's Wayne, patiently waiting.
There was a group of older boys around us, Wayne thought he was so "big boy" to be able to stand by them!
Weston was hilarious... He didn't care about the candy, or really anything, EXCEPT he was convinced that everyone waving from their cars, trailers, horses, etc. were waving DIRECTLY to him! For pretty much the entire parade, he had his hands above his head waving back, smiling and giggling all the while.
Not the best shot, but here's the Grand Marshal, Bev McKissick!
Mom helped Wayne with his candy collecting efforts. I am so proud of him... not only did he understand what to do AND be safe, he was also very polite and kind to the other kids! Oh, be still my heart!
I told Wayne that if he smiled for a picture, he could go after something he wanted... this was the smile that I got!
Stakin' out the territory.... You go Grandma! *Seriously, does she look like a Grandma? I think not!*
I was so grateful to mom for coming along. With the heat, I just couldn't be out in the sun for too long (Weston and I huddled against the building for shade) but she helped Wayne and kept an eye on him. After about 40 minutes of parade watching, Mom and I both looked down the road, and this is what we saw....
.... in other words, no end in sight!!! She gave me the, "could we get away with leaving?" look, and I was all over it! We asked Wayne to climb in the stroller because it was time to go home, and he did without a fuss (I think he was relieved... he had told me a minute before he didn't need any more candy, he was too hot.) We walked home, and I got the boys fed, watered and down for naps. Wayne fell right asleep, but since Weston was up so early this morning and had taken a 3 hour morning nap, he didn't go down until 2:45, and that's when Wayne woke up! Aww, no rest for the 9 month pregnant woman, but oh well! :-) I perked up considerably after drinking a bunch and having a popsicle. Now, we're just chillin' until Tyler gets home around 7pm. It's leftovers for dinner tonight (steak, chicken, green bean casserole, and salad from the garden) and I made a cheesecake yesterday for Tyler and Wayne to eat with strawberries. Tomorrow... we're staying home from church in the morning so that the boys can have good naps and that I can be rested (I usually have to stay with Weston in the nursery anyway, and last week it was TOO HOT.) Then, at 2pm, we have a birthday party for my niece. Then.... the weekend is over! Yah! That many days closer until the baby comes. By then the countdown will be 9 days, and Tyler will only have to work 4 of those, so I should be able to rest and relax a little more. But then, it's supposed to get HOT again... Oh well, this whale might have to beach herself in the kiddie pool! :-)
Here's Wayne, patiently waiting.
{a week in review}
Is it a nap?
Is it a nap if Weston goes down to bed again before Wayne has woken up? I'm really not sure. At this rate we're going to find out soon! Weston's been sleeping a lot lately, even taking 2 or 3 1 1/2 to 2 hour naps each day, then going to bed by 7 or 8 and sleeping until 7 in the morning again. It's been great! I'm realizing that when you are not on bedrest and you are having a baby in 11 days, and chasing two little boys all day long, you get TIRED! I need at least one nap a day. Anyhoo... Weston's been up and in a "lovely" mood since 5:15am. It's now 7am, and he's fast approaching a deposit in his crib! I'm debating whether to take the boys to the Everson parade on my own... They'll be in the stroller which should be fine, and they would sure have fun, but my foot that needs an orthotic has been very sore since I did some shopping on Thursday night (guess I shouldn't have worn flip flops?)and I don't want to make it worse.... but if I wear shoes and orthotics... we'll probably end up going, just to fill the day! Otherwise, we're pretty boring around here today. Yippee!!! Tyler's at work, and I'm sure it's going to be a warm one again. Yesterday hit 84 degrees. TOO WARM for me! :0) Sorry Dana! Next weekend is supposed to be nice, and I have a "to-do" list a mile long, since it's the last weekend and just a few days before the baby comes. Wayne's excited for the baby, and keeps yelling at my belly button, "Come out so I can have my present!" I bought him and Weston each a present from the baby, but Wayne knows he can't have it until the baby brings it to him. Too funny!

3 Wayne stories
1. Do you love me?
Wednesday morning was my last "day" of work, with Tyler off and at home with the boys. Weston was down for a morning snooze (pretty normal for him lately.... new rule: you cry=you sleep!) and Tyler and Wayne were snuggling together on the couch reading books. Apparently Tyler would tell Wayne "I love you Wayne" every few minutes, and after a few times, finally asked him, "Do you love Dad?" Wayne looked at him sideways with a smirk, and said, "You not Dad, you Tyler!"
2. Is this normal?
Wayne was in the kitchen eating a snack while I did the dishes, and Tyler was taking Weston to the laundry room for a diaper change. All of a sudden I hear a loud "OW! Weston no!" When I asked what happened, Tyler said that in the middle of a bear hug from Weston, Weston bit him on the shoulder. He said, "That's not normal for a little kid, Wayne never did that!" I replied, "Yes, it is normal. Wayne was abnormal!" (All of this of course was with raised voices because I was in the kitchen and he was still in the laundry room!) Wayne looked at me with a big smile, and started chanting, "Wayne abnormal! I abnormal!" Tyler came out of the laundry room and just stood there laughing at the ongoing chant. Hey, it's the truth! :-)

3. He pushed me hard!
Grandpa brought by a new toy for the boys... A Little Tikes boat that they can climb in and out of. We thought they'd have fun with it, and when it's just one of them, they do. However, when they both are playing with it, things can get.... dicey. Wayne had one leg in and one leg out, when Weston caught sight of him from across the room. He went running to Wayne and the boat, grabbed Wayne by the shoulders, and THREW HIM to the ground, then climbed in the boat with a big, cheesy grin on his face. Wayne pouted on the floor saying, "Wesson pushed me, he pushed me hard!" Brothers, boys.... It's only going to get more rough, and they will become more tough!
