Not my favorite numbers...

1 0 4. That's Weston's temperature right now! Poor little guy has a burning fever, a runny nose and cough, and has been throwing up since last night. We are watching him for dehydration, but otherwise it's just what happens at this time of year. He had a well child check on Monday, where he was 26 lbs and 35 inches long, putting him in the 45 % for weight, and 90% for height. He was a very healthy boy, except for his teething that made him fussy. I put off getting the flu shot, because he was already feeling under the weather, and three days later.... he's got the flu! Darn doctor's office. I did call just to see how long/high the fever could run before being concerned, and the nurse told me to plan on the whole family getting it. Lovely. Needless to say I've washed my hands so much last night and this morning, they are raw. Anything to keep Wyatt from getting it!

Stay tuned for Stoney Ridge Farm pics! I'm trying to decide how many I can get away with posting on here....

280 - two hundred and eighty!

That's the number of pictures I took while we were at Stoney Ridge Farm in Everson for 2 hours today. That's more than 2 pictures per minute average! Help me, I need counseling. javascript:void(0) Or uglier children! :-) I could be blogging this adventure for DAYS!

*these are not my favorite letters of the alphabet*

E. R.

See? In and of themselves, not too bad, but when they represent a trip to Bellingham at 9pm with your 3 1/2 year old.... Not my favorite!

Wayne went to bed around 7pm with Weston, but because they don't fall asleep well in the same room together (remember Weston's in a big boy bed?) Wayne gets to fall asleep in our bed, and then we move him later. Around 8:15pm, Tyler went to check on them, and when I heard "Tanya, you need to deal with this!" I knew there was b.l.o.o.d. And, if there's one thing I know, it's that Tyler and blood don't mix! I met them at the bottom of the stairs, and all it took was one look at the blood streaming down Wayne's face to know that he had hit his head on the corner of my nightstand, and I was going for a drive. To be sure, I called our doctor's office (while feeding Wyatt before we left!) and they said that we'd need to go to the ER because they were out of appointments due to the flu. Lovely.

So, to the ER we went. In case you were wondering how Wayne was doing at this point, you need not worry. He was beyond excited to not have to go to bed, AND he was getting to go to the doctor. He jabbered the whole way into Bellingham about how the doctor was going to fix his head. We got to the ER, and the waiting began. Can I just say, I much prefer bringing a 3 1/2 year old to the ER instead of a 2 1/2 year old! Wayne was a little angel, sitting there, playing with his monkey, and waving at all the people walking by with masks (if you are there for flu symptoms, they make you mask up.) He wanted a mask, but I told him he wasn't sick. He made friends with a little girl, about 2 yrs old, who had hit her head on the coffee table. Her jammies were bloody too, which was quite the badge of honor in Wayne's eyes! During this time, I was CRINGING inside... GERMS! And FLU germs! I vowed to burn every piece of clothing he was wearing when we got home.

After awhile, 45 minutes or so, we got checked in and Wayne got his bracelet. "Special!"
About this time, the bleeding finally stopped.
Ah hah! Finally! Around 10:15 we were brought to our own room.
And then we were moved to another room, more appropriate for a curious little boy and his monkey, George. Oh, and every time we saw a nurse, Wayne told them "Monkey's jump on the bed, not boys! Next time." That's right buddy. Next time you'll remember!

(Yeah right!)

(pause the music player to hear Wayne's commentary)

We met with a very nice P.A. who didn't think he could stitch it because of the shape of the cut, and because the skin was so flimsy the stitches wouldn't hold anyway. He asked Wayne if he'd like special glue on his owie, and Wayne was sooo into that. "I want some glue please!"

But, before the 3 second gluing could occur, we had to irrigate the wound first. Wayne made it through the first bottle giggling and saying it tickled, and for the second bottle..... He screamed, "Let me go, let me go!" until it was over. 30 seconds of screaming isn't to bad (that P.A. drained the second bottle FAST!) Some glue and a few steristrips later and....

Wayne had to check himself out! He was very excited to show dad and Weston.
See the wet hair? That water went everywhere! As you can see, Wayne was no worse for the wear.
We killed time taking pictures of ourselves while they finished the paperwork, and we were on our way! Thank goodness for the camera, it was a good source of entertainment all night.
We got home around 11:30pm, and I had to feed Wyatt again. Oddly enough, it was the most sleep I've got in a LONG time. Wyatt and both boys slept until 6:30am, which meant 6 1/2 hours of uninterupted sleep for me. Woo0-hoooooOO! I knew I had to take him in, but I'd be lying if I didn't tell you that the thought of grabbing a few ice cubes, needle and thread didn't cross my mind. Oh well. It wasn't that big a deal, just a late night!

Okay folks, I'm off to start a bonfire!

this, that, and the other thing

Thismight make yo wonder.

That...
might make you concerned.

And the other thing...
Might make you trust your instincts!

Wayne found duct tape up at Grandpa and Grandma's house, and HAD to have it on him. Of course, after Grandma handcuffed him, Weston HAD to run around with the tape, like he'd tied Wayne up himself! Oh, the boys!

Next up.... Weston is now sleeping in a big boy bed! The transition was impossibly easy, just like it was with Wayne. He is so proud, and stays in bed for the most part. He is sharing a room with Wayne, and after the first night of them together, Wayne told us that Weston talks in his sleep. By the second night... we believed him! It's pretty funny, considering it's just sounds, not words. What will it be when he's talking?

Good morning Mom! Weston's been really into holding Wyatt lately. He insists! Poor Wyatt... pray for his safety! :0)

Paige and Aunt Trisha came out for coffee one afternoon, and Paige pee'd through her clothes! Rather than send home a nakey baby - I insisted that she wear a pair of our PJ's. Paige in boy PJ's = PRICELESS!Rumor has it that once she got home, she was ridiculously crabby, and when Trisha took of the boy PJ's... SHE WAS HAPPY! Don't know if I believe it.... I'm still holding out hope that Paige will be a tom-boy! Afterall, she's got farming in her genes.

Ergh... Weston got into my purse. Again. And I have a really, really clean purse. And wallet. Everything has a place, and gets sanitized once each week! And now... all over the floor!
Today's been a pretty slow day, since we got home. This fall weather feels good, but it's also given me a case of the blahs!

we had a visitor

On Monday, Tyler's mom came out to visit, and to see Wyatt. We had a nice little coffee time, and she got to see how life at our house is! :-) Couldn't resist adding these pics of Wyatt either... he's just so cute! He still doesn't look like the other boys yet. I think he favors Tyler's charming good looks myself.
Diane was holding Wyatt, and Wayne and Weston were making sure that Dad's abs were in shape!

Movie night!

On Sunday at 7pm, there was a "Handy Manny" special on Disney Channel. We told the boys that we could all sit and watch it together, with popcorn. Wayne was so excited, he had been talking about it for days. And I must say, the evening lived up to all of our expectations! It was just fun to sit and snuggle the boys, and watch them eat popcorn together. They can eat!!! The two polished off a large bowl almost completely on their own! It was a good little movie, and a great time. It's kind of odd to be able to do bigger kid things with them... they are growing up!

Wayne is 3 1/2!

Click HERE to be directed to Wayne's 3 1/2 year old pictures. I was just going to do 3, then 4, but decided he was too cute not to photograph now!
