Monkey See, Monkey Do!

Oh Wayne... not only is he a monkey (he climbs on everything!) but we call him Curious George (they talk the same! ;-) And then today, he was watching the workers in our garage hanging sheet rock. They were hammering and nailing things. So, what do I find Wayne playing with for the rest of the day? His hammer and drill of course! He was having a grand time just playing and playing... we even let him stay up (Tyler was on the phone with Uncle Deryl, and he likes to put Wayne to bed.) What a monkey!

This is Bliss!

Normally, the weekends that Tyler works can get a little long. For you Mom's out there, imagine 3 full days alone with your kids, with about 1 hour of support from your tired husband before the kids go to bed, and then taking those kids to church by yourself. That's our weekend! Where is the bliss??? We had a scrapping day at church on Saturday, and Wayne spent the day with my mom. He is quite the grandma's boy, and went to visit a close friend of hers even. Later he went to see the new cows grandpa had bought, which I imagine is why he played with his plastic cows the rest of the night! (I finished 12 pages, and Weston was with me and was VERY good!) Today's church was a handful that climaxed with both Wayne and Weston leaving church with about 2o minutes to go (mom carried Weston, I took Wayne.) He even had to sit on the naughty step for talking (he obeyed and said he was sorry, but the other adults in the area were no help as they were trying their hardest not to laugh!) But then... home. Both boys have been napping or in bed since 12:30. Wayne played for awhile, and when I went to get him in trouble for not sleeping, he gave me a darling smile, a hug and a kiss. That boy has my number! Weston ate at 2pm, and is just now awakening again. He is having a growth spurt. That is all... I am going to have an iced white mocha and do my Bible Study! Happy Sunday!

What's new with Weston

Weston is still growing like a weed. Some of his 3-6 month things are getting too short for him, but I am drawing the line and making him stay in all 3-6 month clothes until at least his 2 month doctor appointment! We have been really working on getting his naptime routine down. So far, we've determined that Wayne is way too loud and interupts Weston's sleep if Weston is in the same room. So, we are moving him out to the office where there is a bassinet for him, and using the monitor. He is sleeping great at night, but it is taking awhile to get him to go down to sleep. His last feeding is at 8:30 or 9pm, and then it takes until between 10 and 11 to get him down. But, then he sleeps until between 5am and 6:30am. We realize that this is great, but I am still tired, and look forward to getting him sleeping from 9pm-6am. We will continue the battle! :-)

Happy 2nd Birthday: Part 2

These pictures are still from Sunday... Wayne eating icecream cake, and climbing up the stairs with Ethan (those two... monkey see, monkey do.) I still just can't believe that Wayne is two. He is such a fun kid, and is really starting to talk more and more. What's new with Wayne...
  • The naughty step: for those of you Supernanny watchers out there, this really does work! He dutifully sits on the step until we come to get him, and always says "Orry" afterwords. His favorite part is getting hugs and kisses after he apoligizes!
  • Sitting through church... we're working on it! He made it all but 20 minutes one day, which was impressive.
  • Playing outside... that boy loves it!
  • Kissing Weston - let's face it, who doesn't want to kiss Weston? :-)
  • Wayne is moving into 4T for pajamas and shirts, and size 9 shoes. Yikes!

(I'll try and keep posting pictures... blogspot is not letting me upload right now!)

Happy 2nd Birthday: Part 1

On Sunday Wayne celebrated his 2nd birthday with a party with my family in the afternoon, and a party with Tyler's family in the evening. While he started off the day quite crabby (I rocked him in the nursery during the entire church service!) he perked up and enjoyed himself. I'm sure the two pieces of ice cream cake helped with that!!! His eyes were huge when he saw the cake, and he made sure he had a fork in hand while we were singing to him!!! All the kids got monkey masks, and I just love this picture of the cousins. Especially scrawny Wayne! I'll post more pictures later if I can!

The week in review...

It's been another busy week around here...Tyler worked Wednesday and Thursday, and had the AWANA Grand Prix on Wednesday night. Our nieces did very well in the speed rounds this year, and although Tyler was the one starting the cars in their lane, he had nothing to do with it!!! The week was pretty long for me, because Wayne and I both were sick. He first started out with a fever on Sunday afternoon, through Monday, and we both came down with horrible colds by Monday night. For the rest of the week I got nothing accomplished except caring for the boys and myself. We watched A LOT of Sesame Street and SuperWhy, and Curious George! We are all perking up quite a bit today. Even Thursday... we were bored with being home all week, so I packed up the kids after Wayne's nap and went for coffee at my mom's. Her cute neighbor lady came to join us (that's my sister, for all who don't know, she is living in my parent's shop with her husband while they wait to build!) I would have lost my sanity without them!!! Yesterday and today were spent cleaning and wrapping things up, and getting ready for Wayne's birthday parties tomorrow. I'll post photos! *YAWN* I guess I better feed Weston and go to bed, this mom's pooped!
