Father's Day 2013

2013 marks our first Father's Day celebrating FOUR kids of our own.  Incredible!  We still look at each other on occasion and say, "We have a LOT of kids."  :-)  I could not do it without the amazing father that Tyler is.  Incredible.  There is nothing he wouldn't do to help me, and after almost 12 years of marriage we have a pretty good system and understanding of each other's strengths.  So thankful to God for the gift of him to me, and to our kids.  They are blessed beyond measure to have a dad like him.  He coaches their sports teams, shoots hoop with them in the driveway, picks up their shoes CONSTANTLY, and makes them nachos and ice cream before bed.  He reads to them, teaches them how to use tools, and plays duplos with them too.  He puts them to bed almost every night and prays with them before they fall asleep.  We love you Dad!

 And then there's my Dad....  Isn't he something?  Growing up he was a blessing - he taught us hard work, and he taught me to have things organized (not all my siblings learned this lesson though.  :-)  he taught me to love the Lord, to know His word, to love and "do" for family no matter what.  To forgive.  To get over "it" whatever "it" comes along.  Even now, I'll run into people I've never met and they will say to me, "You have to be Bill Scheenstra's daughter!"  Guilty!  And proud.  As I've become an adult, he continues to teach me things every day.  And he is amaizng with our kids - they adore their Grandpa!  What's not to love?

After all that shrimp, we had to MOVE.  Down to the creek we went and had a fun time exploring.

"The Hill" provides hours and hours of entertainment for the kids.  Up and down, up and down.

Football was intense...

Back home, we were washed up and in pajamas so we could do Tyler's gifts.  The boys were SO proud to each give him his present that they had picked out.  Like the crown that Weston made for him at church?  Stylin!  King for a day!
