I forgot to tell you..
The song currently on the blog since Wyatt's birth, "I could not ask for more" was the song that was playing when Dr. Mora delivered him. How cool is that!!!

3 weeks old, and he's a keeper!
Time keeps marching on, and most days are better than the day before (yes most, not all. Work with me people, I'm outnumbered!) Hard to believe that my little runt is now 3 weeks old. He weighs 8 lbs. 1 oz, and is still a very good little baby. He's WONDERFUL all day long, but has struggled at nights and with a few other things, so after ruling out any further issue, he's starting on a heavy duty antacid medication today. I am so relieved, and hopeful that it helps him to feel a little better. He is so cute, and has such sweet, dark eyes. He doesn't even seem to mind the loud noise his brother's are making all the time! (like now!) Having our third, and especially our third boy, has been very different. With Wayne, I was unsure of things, and not very confident. I felt guilty if I wasn't holding him all the time, and like I was a bad Mom and wife if all I did was hold him. I was intimidated by other people, and how much everyone else seemed to know about my baby boy, and wondered why I couldn't figure that out! I looked forward to every new stage and skill with such anticipation, relished in how fast he was growing (I must be doing something right!) and all in all "rushed life." Now, our family motto is "Don't rush life" and I do think we are living it at the moment. I know that I've said "no" to a lot of you about doing things, and I am sorry, but doing so has really allowed me to enjoy and savor these early days with Wyatt. The days are so busy, but I love the evenings... Wayne and Weston go to bed, and Wyatt has his "awake" time from 8-10pm or so. Our special time! That's when he gets his bath, and Tyler and I both take turns holding him and soaking him in. At 3 weeks, he weighs what Weston did at birth, and still seems so small and tiny. His hair is just as wild, if not more, as it was when he was born, and is still dark. His eyes are a deep, deep midnight blue, and are the sweetest, most innocent and "melt your heart" part of him. Or maybe that's his small hands, or his toes, or the way his lips come together when he's sleeping, or his soft soft wild hair, or his smooth skin, or the way his face scrunches up when he's filling his pants, or... It could be any number of things, all I know is I love the little guy more than words can describe!
So tiny in his car seat!
We couldn't pass up the chance to get a picture of Wayne with his Madewyn and Baby Grace. Grace was here for coffee, and Madelyn stopped by with her mom. Oh, and Wayne had to wear his "cowboy" hat!

Wayne and Weston had terrible colds this week, so Wayne had some quiet time with his game.

We're mourning
Is it Thursday already?
How did that happen? It seems like the days and nights are just flying by, and all melding into one. Things are going well around here, just figuring out a new normal to our days. You know... nap time routines, Wyatt's schedule, when to do baths, herd management and things like that! Last night my sister brought homemade thai food.... It was so good, I am seriously considering eating it for breakfast! Pad thai, rice, peanut sauce, salad, AND cookies! Oh, and potato salad the night before, just because I love it so much (hmm.. maybe I should have that for breakfast?!?) Weston has now come down with a cold, which is no fun, and Wayne and I both woke up with the sniffles (not to mention Wayne came in to our room at 5am needing to snuggle.) Thankfully, we have nothing planned today. I mean nothing. Laundry, if that counts, but otherwise... NOTHING!!! I was frantically trying to finish Wayne's current scrapbook on Shutterfly yesterday to be able to order it with their current discounts (I saved $85 in total, about 40%) and did get it ordered. yay! He is done through June of this year, and I can start a new book for him! I am not even considering starting Wyatt's book, that would be ridiculous.
Okay, all for now, I'm really not awake enough to be blogging!

Third Quarter Report
Okay, it's the end of the third quarter. The boys are fed, bathed, and pajama'd. Weston goes down in 1 hour, Wayne in 1 1/2 hours. Wyatt is finally sleeping, and doesn't need to be fed until after Tyler gets home (also 1 hour away.) I can put up with anything for an hour, but as of now, it looks like we could put in subs for the fourth quarter and still come out with a win for today!
First Quarter Summary: The morning went well. All the boys were up by 6:15am, but I was able to shower and get everyone downstairs. We had buttermilk blueberry pancakes for breakfast, and by 9 both Wyatt and a crabby Weston went down for a nap until 10am. I was able to talk with a good friend while drinking a much needed iced coffee (remember the foggy feeling of waking up when there is a newborn in the house?)
Second Quarter: Team Silves went down in flames. It got wild, including two poopy blowouts and more... Weston was napping by 12:30, and Wayne never went down for a nap. I did make him go to his room and read books and play his game for 30 minutes so I could have my own "half time" break. A 20 minute power nap was all Wyatt would allow. Such a slave driver! :-)
Third Quarter: This put the second quarter to shame... It got so loud I had to shut the window (the neighbor lady was outside gardening, and I could see her head kept turning towards us as Weston was running around screaming. He wasn't crying screaming, just happy screaming, but she couldn't have known that! It sounded like world war three in here!) By 2:30 I piled the boys in the car to go for a drive. We watered the flowers at the cemetery (good thing too, they were crisp!) and then went through the little drivethrough on Main Street and got ice cream cones (Weston just got the cone, no ice cream. Cut me some slack people!) When we got home, I did a little toy remix (different toys in different rooms makes the kids think they are all new toys!) which kept them happy for an hour, until dinner. The rest, as they say, is history!!!!
Which brings me to dinners... thank you so much to each and every person who has helped in this way. Without you, we'd all be eating nuggets and hotdogs! :-) Things are settling in though, and I am just GRATEFUL that I am healing so well from the surgery, and feeling up to tackling things. I haven't even taken Ibuprofin in 2 days!
Shoot. Wyatt's up. Toodles!

Big Day=Two Weeks Old+First Sunday at church+First Bath
What a day! Wyatt went to church for the first time, so of course before we left, I had to take a few pictures to document the occasion. Wayne and Weston were good and posed for a few quick pictures before getting into the Jeep. Then, Tyler was playing "paparazzi" as we were heading to the front for a few more pics... nice look I'm giving him, huh?
Later, Mom came over for Wyatt's first bath. This is a long standing tradition in our house... and one that I cherish! I can take all the pictures, and she can make the baby cry. Tyler was trying to herd the boys outside to play in the pool, and was changing them into their swim trunks, but Wayne came running back to see Wyatt's belly button. "I see it!" Guess he left his trunks in the laundry room!
Whew! Weston was so crabby, he was in bed by 6:15pm. Tyler and I managed a quick dinner of steak and vegetables, with Aunt Shari's jello-salad (I know it was for tomorrow night, but it looked way to good tonight... it's half gone!) As we speak, Wayne and Weston are both asleep, and I'm about to go get Wyatt to feed him. Hopefully the next few days and nights go well, Tyler is working and I have the boys all alone! The only item on our to-do list.... SURVIVE!
