The last week of basketball was a whirlwind. I was surprisingly pleased with how well the boys all adjusted - one would play, and 2 would sit on the sidelines. Most nights they did pretty well, and on those "off" nights I would arrange for a little Scheib bonding time. MUCH thanks to my dear friend Kristy who came and helped with the boys more than I ever could have asked for. And to all the family who came out to watch both Wayne and Weston play. Having you watch them sure made the boys happy and proud! Their faces would just light up as you walked into the gym. Wayne learned a TON this season, and by the end was playing pretty tough defense, and had learned the value of an assist rather than just shooting the ball himself. Weston had a lot of fun - and to quote his coach, "I think you play tough enough defense for the whole white team together!" Feisty is the name of his game. Even though it got a bit crazy for awhile, doing 4 night per week, plus Tyler's church league, it was well worth it. Fun to do something as a family, and a GREAT excuse for pizza for dinner!

Why I love my robot vacuum.
It's 1:58pm on Wednesday, March 22. It's 54 degrees and sunny, and all the boys are locked outside, playing in the back yard. Before one of them got locked out, they tracked a TON of dried dirt from their boots into the laundry. But am I cleaning it up? NOPE! I threw the vacuum in their and turned it on in under 30 seconds, and I am sitting at the computer watching the boys through the window, sipping on an ice water, without a care in the world.
I love my vacuum.
And our kids.
The dirt they track in? Not so much.

Devotions for Moms
I receive a weekly email devotion for Moms from biblegateway.com. I especially liked this one, and thought I'd pass it along to any of you out there who could use a word of encouragement! :-)
3 You will keep in perfect peace
those whose minds are steadfast,
because they trust in you.
4 Trust in the LORD forever,
for the LORD, the LORD himself, is the Rock eternal.
A five-year-old tumbles into the kitchen from his adventures in backyard mud, bringing footprints of scum across a clean floor. The phone rings. The baby cries. The doorbell chimes. The dog barks. A harried mom grabs her temples in response to this torture.
Change scenes. The camera spans a spacious, private bath scene, circling around a tub filled to the brim with luxurious bubbles. A beautiful woman rests in the tub, hair pinned in loose curls, arms extended, massaging shapely legs, eyes closed in an ecstasy of relaxation.
Supposedly, this second scene is a picture of peace. What I want to know is, where are the kids, what is the dog doing and who was at the door?
Contrary to the commercial, peace doesn't come in a package of bubble bath. It's not found in a tub or even behind a closed door. Peace comes when we fix our minds on God and on his stability in our chaotic days. No matter who is tromping a mess across our floors or standing impatiently at our doors, the unchangeable God is in charge of our days. Knowing that for a fact is peace.

Wayne's Pioneer Pride Award
Wayne was
awarded the Pioneer Pride award this past Monday at his school. He was
BEYOND excited that it was his turn, and that several of his friends
were also getting theirs, all on the same day! It was made even more
special because Grandma was able to come, and Aunt Tanya came with Ethan
and Paige too. Wayne was speechless to have so many of his favorite
people at his school, on his special day.
He looked like such a big boy up there.
Afterwards, an older lady came up to Tanya, and asked her if the "Wayne Silves" that was awarded was connected to her family. She told her that yes, Tyler had named his first son after his dad, and the lady had to hold back tears. Awww. So nice that almost 30 years after Grandpa Wayne passed away, someone he once knew could be moved to tears by hearing his name - attached to a sweet 5 year old boy, his grrandson. Wayne and I can't wait to meet him in heaven!
Ethan and Wayne had to have a picture together... and this is what they gave me! Yeesh. Boys.
Great job Wayne! We are so very proud of you. You are a sweet, nice boy and you play with everyone. I love coming to your school, and watching you play with your friends, and be helpful to your teacher. You make us PROUD! :-)
