Garage!

The garage is pretty much complete now, so I thought I'd take you on a photo "memory walk" through the construction. We started mid-October, and are now in the finishing stages. It is so great to have it attached to the house, and Wayne loves to play out there even when it's raining (or snowing!) We are so thankful for the hands that helped to make it possible, especially given all of our *DRAMA* in the past few months! Feel free to stop by and have an in person tour, and I can show you all the organizational highlights! Not in the picture is the loft... it is up in the rafters and measures approx. 4 ft. tall and 25' long by 10' wide. It's purpose is for baby and Christmas storage, among other storage needs! Tyler has done an amazing job too, he is so talented, and kept going even though he had a broken and/or sore elbow at times. What a guy!

snow falling on a newly mowed lawn

We finally got around to mowing the lawn, and it snows! The weather has just been crazy around here, snowing for three days now, but nothing accumulating on the ground. We have been busy, busy, busy with home projects. The garage doors were installed, so we have been working on finishing the electrical and installing the *organization* components. This excites me to the point where I can't fall asleep at night because I am concocting the plan in my head! :-) Today was a big install day, while the boys took their afternoon naps. After they woke up, we took a family trip to Lowe's where we filled two carts (we divided and conquered, Tyler with Weston and me with Wayne.) Now we have all we need to finish things off! I have also been searching for a bench for the entry way, so that all of you can have a place to sit and put on your shoes (especially you who are pregnant!) My mom's "epiphany" solved the problem, and made some practical use for existing furniture in the house. Yippee!!! I'll send pictures of all when the projects are done. On another note, Weston is doing really well, and seems to be outgrowing the whole colic thing. He is also sleeping through the night, from 9:30 to 6:30am, and has done so three nights in a row! That's a habit, if you ask me (I'm sure I just jinxed myself!) Night all!

Too cute not to post!

Just snapshots from the last few weeks, Weston is growing so much! Wayne got a new church bag, but wasn't happy when Tyler was doing his hair for church... The boys took their first bath together, and check out the cheeks on Weston!

Easter!

Weston had his very first Easter this year! He looked quite cute, if I do say so myself. He was very good all day, for which I was soooo grateful, since Tyler was working all weekend (Saturday was a long rough day for us!) It was more like Easter weekend around here, with Mom doing her baskets for the boys on Friday, Tyler and I did ours Saturday night when he got home from work, and then we just went to Scheenstra's yesterday (for the first time ever, and might I say that my cousin Lisa knows how to throw a party!) Aunt Thelma was home from Iowa, and Uncle Pete came from Seattle. We had SUCH a nice time, I know we should work harder to get together more often with them. Wayne loves playing with all the kids, and was very good all day (with the exception of getting into the Jell-O cubes!) Enjoy the pictures!

Tempted, oh so tempted!

I'm sure you have all heard of the Cricut cutting system for scrapping and crafting, but I'm behind the eight-ball on this one. I've been looking into it lately, and it is soooo cool, and has so many uses!!! I've checked QVC and Ebay for the best deals, and I am trying to restrain myself. It is so hard! Maybe for Mother's Day... I've also had a scrapbook epiphany. I will do full out scrapping for the boys until they are two, and after that I am switching to 12x12 shutterfly books online. Let's face it, they are boys. They will not want to haul around massive amounts of fully embellished scrapbooks all their lives!

All is well around here. I know I owe you all pictures one of these days. We have just been hanging around the house, finishing the garage, and trying to get outside when we can. Weston is growing like a weed. He is still colicky (SP?) and is pretty bad at night, but a good boy otherwise. He should outgrow the colic in another month or so. His chubby cheeks are so darn cute you just want to bite them! :-) Wayne is getting a little more interested in him, he likes to hold his hands, and watch when I give Weston his bath. Wayne is such a cute boy too. He's been teething lately, so then he's crabby, but it makes his happy moments all the sweeter. That's all for now, I'll try to post a garage update later, and look for Easter pictures next week!

Well Child Check - Update!

Both boys had a doctor's appointment last Friday. Mom came with me to help "fight the battle" so to speak! I'll start with Wayne... it was his two year appointment, so no shots this time, which was great! He is doing well, and is 38" tall (the average height for a 3 year old) and is 28 lbs. That's 52% for his weight, and off the chart for his height. He was quite boisterous in the office, and thought it was great fun when he realized how to turn off the lights. (there are no windows in there!) Weston is doing well too. He is 24" tall and weighs 12 lbs. 10 1/2 oz. That's 85% for his height and 75% for his weight. Compared to Wayne at 2 months, Weston is almost two pounds heavier, and a 1/2 inch shorter! I knew he had some serious chubs on him! (The many rolls on him that I have to clean between were my first clue!) So, both boys are growing and are healthy, for which we are so thankful for.

Who's who?

Many of you have asked who Weston resembles. Well, the answer is that it changes as he changes! Wayne is very much the spitting image of my brother Todd, both in appearance and action. They have so many similarities, it is scary! At one point when Wayne was an infant, I was freaked out to nurse him, because when I looked down I saw my brother's face (I had to cover him with a blanket for awhile! :-) So, back to Weston. My sister found one of her baby pictures, taken when she was 4 weeks old. She was a little heavier than Weston, but otherwise they definitely look alike! Weird, huh? Take the poll, located in the upper left of the blog, and let me know if you agree! (You'll have to cut me some slack, I don't have too many good pictures of Weston to compare with.... just think of what he looks like in your mind, then open your eyes and look at the picture of Tara!)
