Christmas Morning - our time

Christmas morning started EARLY for us, but really not too much earlier than normal.  (Note to future self:  Someday when everyone is still sleeping at 6am, sneak downstairs and enjoy the quiet.  Until then - go to bed earlier!)  The boys wanted pancakes and bacon for breakfast, so while that was cooking we did stockings in the front room.  After breakfast, we started with a very slow gift opening that lasted all morning.   Find a gift, unwrap a gift, give a hug and a kiss, get the gift out of the package.  Play.  Repeat.

Drink coffee.

Repeat.

Mmm..  That is my kind of Christmas!  It was a lovely morning at home with the kids.  Big gifts of the year included Magformers, Skylanders, and Rescue Bots for the kids, and truck stuff for Tyler, and candles, lamp controllers, and waffle plates for me.  Woot!

One of my favorite memories of the morning was of Wyatt.  At 3 he is full of spit and vinegar, and he attacked every present with exuberance.  His arms were flailing above his head as he ripped open paper and boxes, and he jumped up and down screaming, "Yes!"  I got it!" to anything he opened.  Whether he asked for it or not!  :-)  Wayne almost broke into tears when he opened his Skylanders.  Weston was such a sweet "giver".  He wanted to wait and watch for someone to open a present from him.  Addison was clueless, but enjoyed the hub-bub all around.  Such a sweet and precious year to celebrate the birth of Jesus!  Although, I think we celebrated that "Joseph walk step-step" in our house more! :-)
