Step 1: Purchase 3 styrofoam cones from a craft store, and approx. 5, 18 foot strands of beads (you know, the kind you would put on a tree. Walmart sells them for $2) You will also need a low temp hot glue gun ($2.99) and glue (another $2.99) Finally, you will need spray paint and an optional metallic color to sponge paint over the spray paint (like I did.) Also optional... glitter. You'll notice my mom's trees have them (look by the nativity seen, for example) but my trees don't. See my previous "glitter" post.
Step 3: Find a good open space, and spray paint! Once that's dry, you can take a foam brush and dip it lightly in your metallic paint and brush it over the beads. This was THE MOST FUN part of the project, although I enjoyed each step thoroughly. You can then place them on candlesticks or some other type of lift and display them. You can also cut out small pieces of wood, and attach a dowel to look like the trunk of the tree (again, see my Mom's nativity.)
Happy project doing, if you do it, I want to see pictures of yours!
