While we were at the hospital, the boys spent their days and nights at their cousins' house. Mom came and sat with them on Sunday morning until my cousin Kelsey came at 8am, and then she sat with the boys until 2pm when Aunt Tanya came and got them. From there on out, it was good times at the Scheib's! Tanya brought them both to the hospital to see us that first night, and brought Wayne again on Monday morning and Tuesday evening. The weather was nice, and so they played outside a lot, and even got into the pool.
Of course, all that time spent outside meant they were dirty! I am told that this bath went on for an hour!
Okay, here is where the post gets interesting.... when Wayne goes to Auntie's, he has no problem ditching his binkie. By Monday, it had been 24 hours since he'd had the stinky binkie, and I told Tanya, "Don't give it to him now!" At some point he started talking about a binkie bear, and putting it in the bear (I had taken Wayne to Build-a-Bear awhile back and tried to convince him to put his binkie in a bear, but he wasn't buying it.) Aunt Tanya jumped on that idea, and before they came to see us on Tuesday night, they made a pit stop! Are you kidding me? He's SMILING about putting his binkie inside of a bear?

He helped stuff the bear, and put a heart inside, and then....
It was time to put his binkie inside.... and HE DID IT!!!

And later, back at the "ranch" the boys all ate together...
And then every morning the three boys woke up the girls, who slept on the hide-a-bed so that Wayne and Weston could sleep in their room. Thank you girls for giving up your room for 4 days!!!
I'm so glad that Wayne still loves Auntie after our "special intervention". We had so much fun with the boys...let's just wait a couple of years for Baby #4...we should be ready to take #1, 2, & 3 by then!
ReplyDeleteHow neat that Tanya captured moments of the "big boys" time away . . . Tanya Lynn, you are pretty lucky to have Tanya as your sister-in-law!
ReplyDeleteAmanda you are too sweet!
ReplyDeleteAuntie Tanya is the best! She's been practicing being an "Auntie" before she was even married!! She's the best, and my kids adore her!
